VISA Programmable GPIO Box
« on: April 03, 2019, 05:12:36 am »
Hey folks,

Doing some validation of new ICs, and I am looking for a way to toggle/sequence digital outputs (both push-pull and open-drain) with adjustable I/O voltage level, timing resolution in the ~1us range and 10+ outputs.

Until now I have been using various micros and level shifting as necessary - but it is a bit of an inconvenience and lots of wiring.  Does anyone know of something that exists, preferably addressable via VISA, besides the overpriced National Instruments solutions? Essentially looking for the 'Saleae' equivalent for digital outputs.  Even better if it can accept python scripts with external trigger.

Maybe an ebay HP 34970A and a 34907A card(s)?

Interesting, a bit bulkier than I would like.  Although the 34907A looks to be open-drain only for outputs.

I use U2121A / 16-Terminal Digital Input and 16-Terminal Digital Output for similar application.
