Wavetek Fluke 9100 unusual problem
« on: June 15, 2023, 09:11:49 pm »
I have a Wavetek 9100 options 100 and 250 (Scope) that has a very different issue.

On boot up it does it's self test, tells me there are two faults and the 9100 freezes. No response to any buttons, no indication that it is a hard or fatal error (other than freezing)

By holding down the middle soft button under the LCD on power on to bypass the self checks, the 9100 powers up normally. I can get into all the menus and I can not find anything amiss.

I can execute a FAST and a FULL self test and there are no errors reported. I can not find anything that resembles a boot log to snoop into.

Has anyone run into this? Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Hello,
Does it give an error code on first boot?
9100 devices are very old and you can see many different errors. The reason for these may even be a dried capacitor.
Do you get the same error when you turn the device off and on again after being heated for a while by bypassing it?
