Datasheet attached and linked below

The part number differs but I believe that is due to Ophir supplying the lens to an OEM (OPGAL) under contract.

it sadly doesn't cover the image circle I need and it appears to use mixed materials.

Knowing you can but the TE-Q1/V1 19mm lens for about 300€ makes me wonder if there is a noticeable difference in quality - maybe the athermalization?

A mixture of materials is not uncommon in modern thermal imaging lenses. ZnSe elements can actually cost more than Chalcogenide IR Glass and even Germanium ! Bill_W can likely explain why mixed element materials are used as I do not know for sure. I have met ZnSe in intermediate and rear lens positions but the Inframetrics PM280 uses a large ZnSe lens at the front element position.

From what I remember the ThermApp lenses and those of the Thermal Expert were similar prices. I have to wonder whether prices have risen since the ThermApp consumer range was effectively discontinued in favour of the medical version that is currently being pushed by Opgal ? I could only find the referenced company offering the 19mm lens and that may not be in stock. Direct purchase from Opgal might be an option but they are usually more expensive due to minimum order and handling fees.

No worries if this lens is not wanted by anyone on the forum though. It will either be sold on eBay to someone who bought a ThermApp with the 6.3mm lens, or I will put it back in the spare lens box. I just thought someone might want the nice 19mm lens now that ThermApp have changed their market focus.

I was going to mount the lens as an upgrade on a Seek Reveal Pro but I have little time or energy for such projects these days.

I have updated the sales post with a “Bye it now” price as people wanted my lowest selling price.

As it is from Ophir no need to be concerned about quality or materials and this is one of their higher spec lenses anyway.  As Fraser says there are good reasons for using a material mix, and in this case it seems athermalisation and/or colour correction,  as much as there can be for cost / cheapskating reasons.

The only oddity is the field of view quoted on 1024x768@12µm (36.3°) is wider than the lens mechanics allows (29.4°), so it would have slight vignetting (illumination loss at corners) if used for that arrangement.
Anyone looking to use it elsewhere, note the BWD on the drawing of 9mm, not the 'back focal length' of 11.51mm given in text

I recently purchased a Therm App Pro + 35mm lens through a distributor, after Opgal told me point blank that they are no longer manufacturing the camera. The camera itself was $4k and came with the 19mm lens. The additional 35mm lens was another $800, and shipping was $60.
