Firmware issue on UNI-T UTi260B
« on: September 13, 2023, 08:58:38 am »
Hello everyone,
yesterday I installed a firmware update on my UNI-T UTi260B.
Unfortunately, it now gets stuck at 100% during startup.
In the console, I receive the following message about every second:

Code: [Select]
imageListUpdate()
Cannot find the director

Regrettably, I don't have a backup of the original firmware.
That's why I'm reaching out to ask if you could send me your backups or firmware.
I would try them out in the hope that one of them works. Thank you in advance.

Best regards from Germany

Mike

One of several threads here in the forum with this issue:

Several people have uploaded their firmware. You want to be sure you match the major version of your original firmware. This is usually a soft "bricking" caused by installing the wrong firmware version. For example, installing v2.x firmware on a v.1x device. This isn't officially documented and even Banggood provided an incorrect version that bricked my UTi690B (same as the 260B). Since you already have console access you just need to copy over the main firmware file back to your unit as described in those threads. Also the original splash screen image if you want it back.

Thanks!
I've found the needed version, my 260B is working again.
