e=0.01 will always give stupid answers.

This is saying that 1% of the energy from this thing is due to its;s temperature and the rest is reflected energy off of things the camera does not know the temperature of.

So the smallest inaccuracy in guessing the 99% is translated into imaginary energy from the 1% - and multiplied by 100 !

Yes, last time I used it I was just playing around with the settings and emissivity did not come to mind at all when I checked this part.

Thank you for the explanation - it's much better than thinking of it as glossy or matte.

I'm still sore over the autorange thing, but then I saw the PC210 got a FW upgrade so maybe HTI can add the feature if they want.
