My Cooled MWIR (Mars MW k508)

I purchased a Mars MW from a private seller, it has a 320x256 MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) cooled sensor. It outputs 350hz analog video. It sees in 3.7um to 4.8um. Depending on the lens you use on the sensor it can vary from 30-20mK at a 30um pixel pitch. I believe my unit was ripped from a IRC-HY8000, which I believe was built by Guide using French, Swiss, Israeli, etc. It does function and takes about 6 minutes to cool down fully to operating temp at 70k.

You have to wonder why they gutted the original device as that looks pretty well put together. Maybe the original units casing was damaged ?

I was wondering who bought one of these. They're decent, I wasn't particularly interested in taking a risk at the price point the seller wanted. Did the seller provide you with the datasheets that were floating around weibo?

Have the SofradIR datasheet for the sensor, it doesn't include tons of information but does confirm a fair amount.

Just got email confirmation from Guide today, confirming they built the IRC-Hy8000, yet doubt they'll confirm that they used external parts.

The dismantling is likely due to the relatively high value of germanium.
