Picodac 80 training computer
« on: February 14, 2025, 06:33:57 pm »
I found that on a old US magazine from the 70s. A very early 8080 application from the "Laboratoire d'électronique et d'automatisme du Nord" in northern France.

If anyone have any info.... At least this "Picodac 80" is now referenced somewhere in the WWW   :)

What magazine?  What kind of application?  What is a Picodac computer and who made it?

     Details, details, we want details!

I found a wiki ! It's a "Picodidac" from Léanord. didac like in didactic.
Probably used for teaching engineers automation in steel production in mid 70.

It can't be more prehistoric than that !

Hi,

My first job was in Léanord from 1977 to 1983.
I knew the whole series of materials type Picolog, Picodidac, etc. I was in the control department and tested everything that came out of the workshop. Everything was assembled on site.
I travelled throughout France to install equipment, in particular a telephone recorder. (Companies and large luxury hotels)

Then, the time came to the computer, the range was created with the Sil'Z, etc
I left the company just when Siemens bought it.
It was a good experience.

With the keyword Léanord on the net you will find many things about this "family" business.
Greetings to Mr. pronnier (+) and all former colleagues
