Retro computer giveaway (uk)
« on: July 01, 2024, 09:09:09 am »
I'm trying to clear some of the crap treasure from my loft/life...

I was/will put these in buy/sell/want but since these are so retro computer specific and free,  i thought a simple list here easier.

Applemac PowerBook 540c  - considerably crustier than it looks in the photo . probably parts only

Mac G5 - see label picture - no hdds  nice box for a pc

Compaq portable 2 - missing one foot panel

Unique BBC B luggable - i built this a few decades ago and used it to write thousands of lines of 6502 assembler.  It has a (forgot the name) 4mhz board, that never worked for more than five mins and a whole set  of interthingy roms - interibase, interword etc.

I also have an epson lx800 dotmatrix printer and neat 9 inch vga monitor

Collection only , from Colchester Essex uk.

I wish that you were closer.  I loved using those Compaq Portable IIs.  They were great for HP-IB controllers and EPROM burners and similar uses that required using an interface card and when you wanted it to all be portable.  I tried to hold onto several of those P IIs but they all disappeared over the years.

I'm bumping this to add:

Toshiba T1000  with extended  1MB(?)  ram card, carry case , manual etc

I spent hours replacing caps tp get this going, only to realise that I have no use for it :-(

Also, I have a few  cd,dvd , floppy drives , keyboards, mice, switch boxes ,  etc.  if you're looking for something specific, just ask.

Collection form Colchester UK or InPost will ship 15kg to  a locker (lidl) or home (uk) address for about six quid (easy for me) . Royal  mail will also collect (easiest for me) However, i may have to buy packaging for the larger items so it'll cost you more.

Shipping international is bloody expensive and a pita for me but ...

Priority will be given to those offering drugs* , money and/or  sexual favours (or biscuits) ;-)

Not more that 60mg/kg/day (assuming normal liver/kidney health), I hope. IIRC it used to be 90mg/kg/day.

There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
