Based in Marlborough NZ, I am basically looking for full-time, part-time or gig work, that involves building hardware, writing firmware, developing Windows or Linux software, or any combination.
I started my company to do interesting open source hardware and software projects that I could share back to the community, that was until one of my customers software projects took off in 2009. As the customer grew from just a few dozen people to nearly a thousand, it became impossible for a single guy to support 24x7, and it eventually became time to (amicably) part ways. Their IT team have now finally finished the 2-year development of their replacement systems, and I have migrated all their SQL data to it, so my workload has effectively gone from 100% to 0%.
In the free time I had between supporting this company, I have also been designing and building microcontroller based RF and factory control hardware mainly around the PIC, ESP32 and RP2040 for another client (design for manufacture), and as hobby projects that were all open sourced.
Come September, after a short break, and assuming I don't find early-retirement too nice or one of my books becomes a best-seller, I will be ready to start afresh.
My history, skills, projects, (cheap) rates. contact info, and (cynical) wit is all exposed on my web site,
rodyne.com and if you know of anything that might suit, just email or PM me.
Thanks for reading.
