        Dave, would you be willing to post the full video? If it is a matter of space and not being able to do it on youtube maybe either break it up in to 10 videos since this is times 10 or host it somewhere. I realize it would have some EXTREMELY boring parts but its hard to follow at 10 times during parts of the video. I must say it is very cool of you to show us how you do it and why you do it the way you do. Kudos again!

        Hello Dave

        Any particular reason not to route on BOT and put the GND plane on TOP ?

        Usually i prefer that, coz it makes it possible to manufacture yourself the PCB (in your config you woul have to solder nearly all the components from top if no plated holes!)

        Also, for debugging, it’s easier to have access to all traces on the empty side.

          It’s mainly just convention because with say an SMD board, you want the components on the top side for ease of access and probing when the board is in the product. It’s also handy to be able to cut and hack the tracks on the top side without removing the board.
          Designing a board for ease of home manufacture would be different of course, but that was not a consideration in my design.

        I’m going to ask something kind of strange. I noticed your board has rounded cut outs on either side. I’m sure this is because the box you’re planning on using has something that needs the clearance like screw channels. That said I find it strange your board has the same rounded cut outs as the daughter board in the Gossen Metrahit Energy Multimeter seen in EEVblog #173. Is this just a strange coincidence or are you planning on using some off the shelf power measurement board that Gossen also used in their Metrahit Energy. If not, could you then explain why the board in the Metrahit Energy has the same cut outs. See 2:25 minute mark for best view. I can’t really tell why the Metrahit Energy must have these cut outs.
