Sagan’s TV Commercial Debut!
Posted on May 16th, 2012 11 commentsSpot Sagan in the catchy new Bonds TV commercial!
And my hands make an even briefer appearance at the 0:22 mark coming in from the leftBonds actually paid Devo to re-mix their hit song Whip-It for the commercial.
Of course, nothing beats Sagan playing with test gear:
And some behind the scenes video footage at the commercial shoot:

You could contact Fluke and Agilent, so they could hire Sagan for another commercial

It’s actually stupid to make marketing out of your kids. You don’t even know if Sagan would agree beeing spoiled all over the TV and the internet. I certainly would have hated my parents for that. Crazy.

Congrats on Sagan being in a commercial! Daniel, babies don’t have much say in anything, and if they are cool with it, let them have fun. As far as older kids, let them try it, encourage them, and if they choose to stop, that’s okay too. (I know because I did the whole cattle call, modeling thing for 2 years when I was a kid.)
Also, Devo redid “Whip It” for Pepsi Throwback here in the states, I was annoyed when I heard it until the end when they said it actually was Devo.

Very cool Dave! Sagan rocks!
Love your blog, and listen to the amp hour every week. Thanks for all the effort you put into both. You have been a big part of teaching this humble mechanical enginner to love electronics. -

Neat! Getting his college fund started early, eh?
As a parent of a young kid who appreciates Devo, you should check out “Yo Gabba Gabba!” It’s a kid’s show done by The Aquabats (third-wave ska band from the late 90s), who are a bunch of goofballs, and it’s actually not insanely tedious to watch. Also: Mark Mothersbaugh (the one and only, of Devo) does a drawing segment on the show. It’s pretty awesome stuff, though the first season is definitely more watchable than the subsequent ones.

“Playing with test gear”….I’m sure Sagan will soon be responsible for several, possibly unintended teardowns (just as I was as a kid)
Make sure you video them! -
Looks like the shoot was fun. Those production guys must have had a ton of patience for this type of shoot.
