Copy & Paste PCB layouts
« on: January 05, 2015, 06:19:01 pm »
I have a schematic and PCB designed, and I need to make a copy of this same layout on the board 8 times, with the inputs and outputs going to one place.

How can I do this with Altium? I've heard about Rooms but am unsure of exactly what the best practice is for this.

rooms are not how that is done. look up tutorials on 'channel design' for altium.

you will create a toplevel schematic, create 8 instances and place the connectors on top level. altium will partition your deisng in blocks you can manipulate. you can clone placement and routing between blocks.
