Thought I'd pass this along to the group. Free books from TI.

Analog Engineer's Circuit Cookbooks

Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs)
Operational Amplifiers (Op Amps)

Had a friend surprise me this morning with a copy of each printed out!

I already know most of this but it’s a nice refresher, I haven’t done much analog work lately

Circuit Cookbook: ADC's, p.10 & p.16 resistor 200 kOhm seems very high for SAR ADC. Brief search in the ads7042 data sheet shows correct value, p.25 - 200 Ohm.

When I clicked on "download" it opened but did not copy it. I needed to find the cookbook in Google to find a link that I could copy the PDF file.

A most useful little book on that page is the "The Signal" free ebook, down on the second row. It covers, in an easily accessible form, so many of the opamp questions I've seen in this section.

Just a quick comment on the cookbook circuit.  The value of that filter resistor should be different depending on the sampling rate of the converter and the amplifier used.  This circuit example is for a very low power system, so the sampling rate is very low.  When the sampling rate is low, the time to charge the internal sample and hold capacitor is long and a larger time constant can be used.  Also, for a low power amplifier (like the one in the circuit) a large series resistor may be required for stability.  In any case, the transient analysis simulation (page 14) shows that the circuit settles well.  The link below is to a video series that shows how to select the RC circuit and confirm the accuracy using simulation.

Title says 1-ksps on p.10, and for this specific sampling rate error is very big:
C, pF   F, Hz   R, Ohm                R-lpf           Error, %
15          1000     10610329.5       200000   1.85008236122648

where C - capacitance S/H, and error is calculated as two resistors voltage divider. To get 1/2 LSB sampling rate has to be less than 5 sps.

They must have changed the access since previously all my links worked without having an account.

@amyk, thank you. But I'm not sure it's latest version of the books. At least the one with "slyy138" in URL.
On preview (see my link or attached image above) covers are dark, and second book calls "Data converters", not just "ADCs".
Did you really open page with my link (and click "View e-book") or have just "updated" links from message of @flash2b?

Yes, I thought that too.

the latest on the site (as of yesterday) is labeled "Third Edition SLYY138 - 12/2024"

The PDFs are too big to post here. Can’t you just quickly re-register on the website?

I've tried to register with a different email - no success.
Fortunately, found collegue with an active account and was able to download both files.

Probably some overlap but no registration needed - a compilation of 100+ analog designs:

(reported in Hackaday... https://hackaday.com/blog/page/2/)

A classic publication, almost 1500 pages long. https://bitsavers.org/components/national/_dataBooks/2003_National_Linear_Applications_Handbook.pdf

The subject index is on (PDF) page 31
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".
