Hi everyone!  ;D My name is Mai, and I have a survey I'd like to humbly request people fill out. I hope it's alright to post this here. If it's not, please let me know and I'll take it down immediately; I understand surveys aren't always welcome.

I'm currently taking a class on UX design, and I've chosen "Electronics Documentation & Information Sourcing" as my research topic. I'm here to research how comfortable electronics hobbyists are with researching components, and if there's a better way to help people understand what they use. If this goes well, I'd like to create an actual tool to help alleviate this issue! (I know it would cetainly help me, lol). For that, I need a varied database of responses.

All answers are completely confidential between the surveyor and the surveyee and will not be published or shared externally. Your name will not be attached to anything, and I am the sole researcher. This survey is intended for people over 18. The survey consists of both multiple choice and open ended questions, and you have no obligation to answer anything that you do not wish to. At the end, you will have the option to leave your email if you are comfortable with potentially being emailled for a 1-on-1 interview.

I would really appreciate any responses, and please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you kindly :D
Also, promise I'm not here to post and run! I have other projects I'd love to share outside this. If you're not sure if I'm a real person, you can check out my website here, at https://mai3yi.com. Excited to meet you all!

I was curious so I went to your survey page.
Seemed fine until I got to

[checkbox]  I acknowledge this and consent to sharing this information for sole usage in this study.

So just who would I be sharing this information with?

The association with Google makes me suspicious, to be honest.

Hi! I didn't realize it could be interpreted it like that; I apologize! You're sharing this information with me, Mai. That's all I meant! I just used google forms because I thought it was more secure and trustworthy than another survey site. It's just meant to mean you're alright with me using the data in the research! Nothing else. If you still don't want to take it, no worries; I appreciate you checking it out!

I went ahead and completed your survey, as it required no personal information from me.

I indicated on a few of the questions that they were too vague to be answered.

Good luck with your survey.
