FAEs
« on: March 01, 2011, 08:47:38 pm »
HA!

Was talking to my wife about the stigma of FAEs are people usually people who were not very good engineers so they work more as a sales support staff.... She nick named them "Failed At Engineering"... Thought it was funny and thought I would share.... Sorry to any FAEs reading this.... It not to say that all FAEs are bad at engineering.

I think my favorite technical aptitude slur is 'blinking twelve'.

It comes from those folks who's VCRs were always blinking 12:00 because the owner couldn't sort out how to set the clock. :)

My favorite is the term applied to a thick or Bolshoi customer, a 'custard'. I'll leave you to work that one out. What's a FAE?
Machines were mice and Men were lions once upon a time, but now that it's the opposite it's twice upon a time.

There is a lower rank, those who cant switch the device off because the blinking bothered them at night (VFD era).

FAE = Failed at Engineering
That's funny, love it!

My experience after 3 years as FAE:
you can be (1) right (2) help customers solve their problems.
(1) and (2) hardly ever happens together.
