Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.
Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.

Really appreciate this thread, often interesting things to be found on it but... when people post links to long videos could they perhaps please include a few lines summarising what the video is about, not just the title of the video but a little "review" or "synopsis" too. Even for a mere 5 min video it can be tough to decide from the title and thumbnail alone as to whether one wants to spend the time to actually watch it (particularly as so many videos take a long time at the start before saying anything substantially beyond rephrasings of their title).

P.S. jonovid, I'm sure that video could be titled as "Stayin' a 555", vid isn't high enough resolution to read the chip's label but it's got 8 pins so I'm making that guess

Because that video is the fake one.
The real one was posted by me a few pages earlier in this thread.
Enjoy the full real McCoy here:

... long videos ... review or synopsis ...

For very long video, best is to play them at x2 speed.  YouTube video settings allow changing playback speed at any time.  At first, x2 will seem impossible to follow, but you'll get used to it in no time.  I've started with x1.25, then x1.5, and in a couple of weeks I was watching YouTube at x2 speed default speed, sometimes even faster, at x2.5 or at x3 rarely.

Once you get used to it, when reverting to normal x1 speed, it all seem slow motion and the voices sound retarded.  ;D

About table of contents, some videos have that in their video description on YouTube, you'll have to click watch on YT, then un-hide the video description right above the YT comments.  Other videos have video chapters split, and if you hover the cursor above the video time bar, you can read the title of each video chapter.

Another way to cut corners with long videos:  not all videos require eyes on screen.  Many can be left to run as audio only, in the background, while doing something else.

lol he has so much source material to work with now it will be hard to figure out what to do

also jedi is uk religion since 2001, it should be mentioned. this film is heresy

I hope they really show the stupid stuff going on in some of those movies. I am scared its is designed to 'work with' starwars as a series instead of being its own movie. I imagine there is some execs that wanna compromise it to some how be part of the starwars series with the design choices and stuff. Like a sell out

Planes/birds/air/... exert force on land below (just very spread out), this is well known. Measurements in a video were a bit lacking to show the effect of plane passing by. With modern piezo force sensors much better data can be captured (for example, Kistler sensors How big is the reaction moment of the second hand of a wall clock? Have you ever wondered?).

How to build a single-pixel camera
okooptics

As seen at https://hackaday.com/2025/06/29/pictures-from-paper-reflections-and-a-single-pixel/

Imaging objects out of sight using a single photodetector
okooptics

(compressed sensing, take a picture with a single pixel detector facing away from the scene, and no moving parts, only structured illumination)

Had one of them wiggys  type testers for years, mine didn't have the polarity indicator on the top , was more cylindrical, and had the voltage scale on 4 sides so you could read it at most angles.was my goto tester until it jumped off a scaffold tower

My Favorite Transistor Riddle

I used that once to get a little bit of negative bias on a 324/358 so that the output could really achieve zero volts while sinking some current.  An optocoupler works much better.

Disappointing.
Why? Because I was hoping he'd explain how his random-pixel image-reconstruction thingie worked. That's the fascinating part here.
