I'm Måns, from Sweden. I've successfully avoided electronics design until just about the Arduino. I've been holding a soldering iron in mostly correct ways since about 1985, though, but I've mostly done cable manufacture and bodge repairs. As one does, when working with pro audio and video in the field. I got pretty good at terminating cables onto XLR plugs. Since 1998 or so I've been trying to keep the Internet together in various network-related positions, running a country-code top level domain, doing research network operations, reforming the network of not one but two public service broadcasters and so forth.  (Yes, I run several distinct routing protocols in my home network.)

To keep things straight, I build analog audio systems at home, and try to design home automation that is not cloud-dependent. Since my very first pro-audio employer denied the repair tech an oscilloscope, I've always wanted one. This was the start of a still-on-going "vengeance T.E.A." rampage.

Now, I've got what my pals dreamed of back then in the early nineties, a Scopemeter, a Tek 465, a bunch of oscillators, a Nixie tube counter, and a Tek Distorsion analyser in 500 modules. And, an Avometer. Just because. Bakelite. Mirror scale. Not enough, though. Needs more.

One Thing i made that may helped other people, was reverse-engineering a Serial Protocol of a E-Bike battery to be able to build your own and having it accepted by the Bike. (can be found under google search term "yamaha reverse engineering")

Hi! I'm Gabriel, from Argentina.
I'm into electronics since (or before) I could walk, but it always managed to be a hobby. I ended up at the internet service provider industry doing all kinds of networking and IT stuff, nowadays linux, routing, rf planning, and fiber deployment things. And of course as required by my country, crisis management, financial struggling expert and do-it-with-whatever-you-can-find specialist.
I have two kids, a 6-yo girl wich has started doing some basic breadbording and 7-mo boy.
The YT bug bite me not so long ago and I've started watching Dave, that's when I learned to speak Aussie, and faster than I realized I was 'again' more into this than R/C.
Now I'm building up my lab on a separate room with dedicated place for test gears, parts, soldering station, and other important stuff which up to this day it was shared with my RC/metalworking/woodworking workshop.
I'm currently finishing the design of a lab PS with all the crap I already have, among them a lot of busted UPSs with big beefy heavy transformers, which as you already know is not possible, you end up buying more crap but that's where the fun is. (yeah I know, linear... but with a buck tracking pre-regulator!)
A lot of the wonders of the modern age are not quite easy here, such as two bucks Chinese PCB manufacturers, parametric component search suppliers and dead cheap test instrument on the bay. So, local PCB manufacturers which charge you one or two orders of magnitude more or an epic bureaucratic fight whit the customs and gov are required.
I hope I can be off of T.E.A for a while at least
