Beautiful piece 🤔 so the main thing is to fix it and the patient doesn't have to undergo a lobotomy :-BROKE

Thanks, it was a parts only scope but it lives again. Is it bad to use a scope to repair itself? I say if it does not have an interlock on the lid it is fair game  ;D

Yes but do not try do measure the handheld DMM battery with the DMM itself, don't ask details please.

Scopes are like vacuum cleaners, you need at least two so they can clean each other.
I have a cheap scope to use first (Siglent SDS804x HD) and only if there is no smoke and I see what voltage is present, I go with my >$6K price tag Keysight one, maybe in 50Ohm termination.

I have all the new soldering equipment set up and ready.  The stations are on a 1990's era CRT monitor stand that clamps to the edge of the table.  It was a Goodwill find for $6, new in the box.  I cut a 1/4" piece of HDF 12" x 12" to make a platform on it. I can rotate the platform and it allows me to swing the entire thing out of the way.  Weller 1010Black, Yihua 948DB+-II 75W T12 and a Yihua 982D SE 200W C210 &C245.

In the back is a WEP 958d hot air and a WEP 948D-I desoldering station.

I included a pic of my bench and the way it is now.  It has changed a little since 2017.  https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/whats-your-work-benchlab-look-like-post-some-pictures-of-your-lab/msg1179703/#msg1179703

Sorry for the blurry photo's.  Old phone, old hands.

At least I'm still older than my test equipment

I use the Hantek 1102 scopemeter for unknown measurements and only when it is safe do I use my R&S
