This sounds great... by using components from audophile technology... it has achieved quantum leaps
in signal quality...

The enclosures are holo sealed and all modifications are covered with a resin compound.

All above reminds me a bit like of this:
Conductor Material:  U.S. laboratory grade precious metal alloys, proprietary formulation

12.33 I see it looks like that would have fitted without cutting the fins.

What if they cut the fins off to make it look like they put the crystal in there but then that isn't going to matter as they glue over the screws and not many would want to drill them out.

Another audiofool company at it as well:

Oops, just realised that that Ansuz Ethernet Switch is in fact a modded D-Link DGS-108 6 - an unmanaged switch, but has IGMP Snooping that apparently can’t be turned off.

I’d return that switch and put the Cisco back in

Switches can make difference in Pro Audio setups.   Dante for example.  Lots of articles about what switches to avoid.

https://usa.yamaha.com/products/contents/proaudio/docs/dante_network_design_guide/101_network_switches.html

Some list have brand names that have inconsistent packet delay times that are to be avoided.

All that said, a wrong switch and it will either drop the realtime auto streams or force you to configure for longer latency.   It will sounds the same.

I remember another audiophool network switch. I need to check tomorrow evening if i can still find the images.

It was de-branded by the sellers, but they showed an image of the board. The switch was recognizably a modded small Cisco desk switch. They replaced a couple of electrolytics, added a few in the area of the voltage regulators, and they replaced the crystal of the CPU. Just looking at the pictures the seller themselves posted, and these were quite blurry, the shoddy soldering was quite obvious.
I think they sold it for more than ten times it's normal off the shelf value.

Looks like they had been doing this for some years and they used this generic one without a filtering cap.

XXX Uncensored: US$10 Upgrade for Aqvox USB Power Supply = Generic wall wart?

After this upgrade:

Better ripple rejection (15dB more)
Better output filtering
Better transformer (better DC noise resistance)

Quote
They look 90% the same, but there are some differences:

a. The ZIP R4W005-100 uses Sharp PQ30RV21 regulator, the AQVOX uses PQ30RV11.
From here: http://www.sitsemi.ru/analog/pq30rv1_e.pdf

The PQ30RV21 is rated 2A and the PQ30RV11 is rated only 1A; also the PQ30RV21 has higher ripple rejection performance (15dB better), so the PS with the PQ30RV21 will have much less noise.

b. The ZIP R4W005-100 uses 6800uF filtering capacitor regulator, the AQVOX uses 4700uF only,
So the ZIP R4W005-100 will have less ripple on the output and can withstand current spike better, ~50% better.

c. The ZIP R4W005-100 has an extra filtering capacitor before the Sharp regulator
C(IN) in the schematic, the little blue cap in the photo; this increase performance and stability of the regulator.  It is recommended in the Sharp datasheet, but the AQVOX one doesn't have it.

d. ZIP R4W005-100 has a better transformer

The core of the ZIP R4W005-100's transformer is alternatively stacked, the AQVOX one is butt stacked. Usually butt stacked is cheaper to make and has lesser performance.

Switches can make difference in Pro Audio setups.   Dante for example.  Lots of articles about what switches to avoid.

There's a good reason for that and people will need to learn about Dante to understand what it is - distributed multi-channel digital audio with no world clock, so fully asynchronous, which is a pretty tough endeavor and requires strict timings and non-trivial algorithms to resynchronize/resample audio.

But it has almost nothing to do with what is shown here: a simple ethernet switch for basically streaming audio from a single source to a single destination with no mixing.

It's almost like using the wrong communication interface for realtime audio can cause problems for realtime audio.

sarcasm: well, it's a scam, but at least the modifications are state of the art.

Funny thing: They state "Made in Denmark" - which is a lie. And certainly means a legal issue (competitive regulations).
Also lacking CE mark on the PSU, so it's illegal to sell in EU. Plus not matching manufacturer, so using the GS mark might be illegal as well.

All is a lie: country of origin, mods done, improvements, EVERYTHING is a lie.
The fact is that these people often get away with it.
If I were D-Link I would sue them for using my brand name and packaging for something like that.
Also, in addition to the scam issue, I think that whoever makes that thing is really crazy since he also took the trouble to put "special" stickers underneath the glued part.  :-//

Maybe they are meant to stop radiation; protect your precious audio stream from the 5G and WiFi?

the only purpose they have is to show how crazy the person who conceived that thing is. It's not just a scam, I fear he really believes that.
