The 8 bit guy did a video on it.
And yeah don't look at the prices
I did see some articles about that vacuum tube a while back, but don't recall where. Might have been hackaday.
I talked about the Nutube stuff a while ago in another thread. Interesting devices for experimenting. Kinda expensive though.
As to this evo64 and everything that goes with it, yes it's "ridiculously" expensive, but why not. There is a market for that apparently and that's probably fun if you're into that!

Yeah, Jan Beta has also done one. And at least he didnt plug anything in back to front...

I have seen David (the 8-bit guy) make these basic and sorry mistakes a few times (the IBM prototype goof up was one of the worst that I recall). The upside is that, If it helps improve the documentation and alert potential buyers, then it served its purpose.
Those Nutubes are ridiculously microphonic and definitely not 'audiophile' grade.
They were designed for use in Korg synthesizers, and work well for that, but a tube for high quality audio reproduction they are not...

Of course, to each its own, and if you can afford it, indeed why not.

Maybe that is why they also have the "Triode 64". It looks as if you have to cut a hole in the bread-bin to allow it to fit.

I want to see a quad of 300B tubes in push-pull configuration sticking out the top of a Commodore 64 like some sort of Frankenstein experiment.
Given the source of the audio, talking about audiophile quality is ridiculous.
Reminds me of the company who put 12AX7A tubes on pc motherboards for the onboard sound back in 2002...
Apparently that never caught on.
Was there a PC motherboard with 12AX7s on it? I only remember the one that used 6DJ8s....
You may play this audiophile vinyl with it then..
