Program Cyclone IV with USB blaster from arm64 linux
« on: September 04, 2023, 11:03:57 am »
I want to upload gateware from *.sof file to Cyclone IV board with JTAG from arm64 linux using USB Blaster.
I already have precompiled *.sof files, so there is no need to install Quartus and compile *.sof file.

What I want is just to upload selected *.sof file into Cyclone IV. Like it can be done from Quartus Programmer under Windows.

It can be useful, because allows to do thing from Raspberry Pi machine to not power on desktop PC...

Is there any tool for arm64 linux which allows to do it?

You could try compiling OpenFPGALoader for arm64, I have it running on an Intel Linux machine: https://trabucayre.github.io/openFPGALoader/

Don't know if it works.

Some other people have good experiences with OpenOCD, but that didn't work for me at all.

Cheers,

Alberto

Not sure ...

But maybe the old jam-stapl could do it (was designed to be lightweight)

https://github.com/margro/jam-stapl
https://github.com/kontron/altera-stapl

Other example
