Make doc, Pandoc?
« on: November 30, 2020, 01:24:57 pm »
I need to create some good html and pdf files, and found this tool.

Never tried it yet, just looked at its source code and examples.
It's written in Haskell. Examples look very very interesting.

Thanks for sharing. Glad it's multi-OS, available for Linux... will add to my conversion tools. I use a number of PDF manipulation tools and image toolkits/converters but I don't have too many document converters.

I've been using pandoc for a lot of projects. It's a great tool and supports a very wide range of document formats. I typically use it to convert from Markdown to PDF. Bit of a learning curve to get the parameters right, but if you are looking for a tool for automation, learning how to use pandoc is well worth the effort.

I use pandoc and found out it does a good job across the most popular standards - in my case, migrating from mediawiki to html. If I try to migrate to rest or markdown, it requires more handholding.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

Thanks guys for the feedback. I have already compiled the Haskell compiler, and used it to compile Pandoc.

Spent two days compiling stuff, now I am ready to learn and use the final tool  :D
