I think he's criticising your choice of a three jaw chuck. "I'd use a collet or a four-jaw for that workpiece if I was you mate."

That's up to me.

That's up to me.

I'm sure it is, and that's how it should be. But does the cat think that? Probably not, I reckon that "criticising humans" is cats' 3rd favourite pastime. When Madam is not either asleep or eating she sits staring at me, judging.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

It's not staring and certainly not judging, it's observing. People are busy, they try to understand why you don't choose for pure existentialism. Just take the time and ask her: "Show me the way". She will lead you then to a full bowl of food, which in her opinion is empty. Don't contradict and fill it symbolicly and all will be fine.

That has already happened twice this evening. I expect several repeats before bedtime...

You say that, but secretly have noticed the quiet purring or content half-lidded eyes or slight excess of saliva, I bet...

[No, that last one does not mean they are dreaming of eating you, even if their appetite and demand for food exceeds their size tenfold.]

Currently looking out the door, flat on the floor, because it is warm, and the cat is full of food.

Was there meant to be a picture included with that?

Sorry, chaps. It's a fake:

Imagine walking through a beautiful English country garden, turning a corner and seeing a gigantic, perfectly-manicured cat sculpted from lush green bushes lazing next to a lake.

Taken from the mind of a "surrealist" artist from Stapleford, Hertfordshire - and rendered into high-quality fantastical images - the topiary cat has been taking social media by storm.

I figured that just looking at the ears - too perfect.  Cool concept, though.

And for a cat pic, here's Nixie

Well of course. One look tells you it's photoshopped. I'd be a little surprised if anyone was taken in by it as being 'real'.

Even if instinct doesn't tell you there's something very wrong with the look (or a quick analysis of the shadows), the absence of the cat in the real life location would be obvious to anybody who'd seen that 'temple' (as I believe it is called)  and lake before as the location is quite distinctive. I forget which English 'great country estate' it's on, but it's one of the better known ones. I believe it was one of the locations featured in the TV series 'Landscape Artist of the Year'.

Yes, I am aware of that, but I like the idea and the idea that someone could actually put something like that into practice.  :)

Yes, I liked the shot you posted. The others, like the one with the cat drinking, not so much.

In the right lighting conditions, his eyes are quite golden/orange, too.

Tree squirrels can be utter assholes.  They seem to enjoy taunting their predators given half a chance.  They definitely seem to understand that closed windows are a barrier they are safe behind.  The way they chuck pinecones etc. at your head is a deliberate act, not an accident.  Then again, they can be rather endearing and funny, too.

SQUIRRLES ! Bad squirrel territory here (Berkeley hills),
they vandalize ANY thing left outside at night.
With 'things' dropping on me, on the YOGA  mat, I did some checking, upwards...And, darnit: A great big SQUIRREL chewing on the bark, right STRAIGHT above me.
They play, endless chasegames, right all over my new seed-bed...(creepy fun-lovers).
lol

Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.
