Here’s one you don’t see every day - self taught !

Visited family for xmas. They have that grey/purple-y coloured Russian breed of cat. No problem with that but he comes over for a pat for a few minutes and then suddenly whack! He bites your hand.

What a prick.

Just for statistics: how many family members did he bite this time? They tend to be a bit selective.

Only the people the bothered with the cat. Everyone else talks to the other cat which is pretty chill in comparison.

Now this was a reasonable bite. The vet pulled at his hair and there I was with my cat attached to my finger, a puddle of blood forming on the table. I said to the vet: "He will let loose eventually". The vet and I agreed that my grip could have been tighter. The vet is till this day my latest treating doctor.

A couple weeks back when wandering indoors a 4 footed intruder was spotted and the wife gently summoned to witness the event however as we were babysitting our sons tricolor working dog it too also had to come and see which elevated tensions of what seemed like a friendly puss where she hurdled past me sitting trying to be nonthreatening and scarpered out the door and not a trace was seen again until yesterday when we at the farm workshop 200yds away.
No dog present this time and with a little coaxing and kind words the darling Brownie was quite happy to be picked up and much enjoyed a scratch and fuss made of her.....just don't touch her belly !

Wasn't much worried about us doing some equipment maintenance and came over for the occasional bunt of a leg and several further pettings yet content as she was with her new friends not once did she purr.  :o
Just once she acknowledged us with what was to seem like a meow yet no sound was made.

Some 30mins later Larry Minor's (our youngest son) partner turned up with the tricolor dog while I had Brownie in my arms and while not that impressed she wasn't desperately afraid while we had hold of her although some soft growling was emitted. However tricolor smart as she is bailed to a safe distance as she only would like to be friends with Brownie and knows it will require a little patience on her part.
Brownie was left in the shed with a door ajar however this morning she was gone, probably back to her real owners servants in a property nearby.

Thanks Pat and I thought so too and after growing up with a chatty Tonkinese decades ago I was very surprised as Brownie was mostly mute, well at least to us in the hour or so we had with her. Had she been chatty and purred she might have been held captive at our house  >:D but really no as we well know how attached someone may have been to her.
For you the other pic taken before I text the wife to come down and meet Brownie in case she fled before the wife got another look at the intruder of a couple weeks previous. For a while there were 4 of us making a fuss of her and she didn't seem worried at all....I like that in a cat.

They like that in the slave race. She was probably saying "Ah ha!. The plan is working, soon they will be in my power" (Whiskers flat against the face, both ears forward, left one slightly tilted back, nose raised, tail vertical, tip curled downward. I understand cat fluently but can't speak it - no whiskers, ears too immobile and no tail.).
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

Or what to throw on the floor. My cat would select the glasses, although he is more into displays and TO220 things.

I don’t think they put much conscious thought into that - knocking stuff down is just something that happens naturally as they climb about, and the lot of them certainly do plenty of climbing about!!  It’s not intentional, it just is.   :-// :-DD

I disagree. The look, the paw that's ready. It's the "or else". The timing. They try in their own way to make something clear.

And as experience taught me, they are mostly right. I would add that a cat is normally in stealth mode, falling things only attracts attention. Ah. typing this I see that I have come full circle. So cats are easier to understand than analog electronics.
