Not a problem for the cat, but better avoid that if he's allowed to go outside, it's their main defense against other animals.

I also like the claws, but some cats are plain dumb or too sensible.
I had a cat, although very gentle, would extend them most of the times I lifted him, attaching to my clothes/skin like his life was in danger, but completely relaxed, he just did that for no reason!
That and beating the sofa / bed when bored.
So yep, a trimming every 10-15 days was a must for that little bastard!

He was just a plain idiot: yelling at 4am for food, once you got up and went to see, oh I have food!
False alarm human, forget it.
His brother was stronger and bigger, but with a completely different personality, a lot nicer, also way smarter, he knew how stupid his brother was and would "correct" him when he started doing dumb stuff  :-DD
Then the idiot ate too much one day, we came from work and found the cat stuck behind a closet, he had pushed all he could to stuff that fat belly in, but the butt was left behind! That was hilarous. The big one came after him, licked few times, and applied some "corrective" mild slaps for being so dump.

The cat I took care of last weekend (Already with the owner) didn't show the claws even when 3 strangers grabbed him while a dog was barking at him! He just shrinked in our arms like a baby.
Oh but in play time... The young feeecker had a lot of energy, took 5 seconds to learn to not use my hand to play with him!
My wrist is full of marks like I tried to commit suicide  ::)

I keep all but Ghost clipped.  She's the former feral and too skittish to hold, but I'm often tempted to try getting her used to it as she often gets her claws caught in things.  Piglet is usually very mellow and lets me do them without too much fuss; Pixel and Beaker don't much like it but let me do it just the same.  Nixie and Faraday are still relatively new here and not entirely used to it, but only wrestle a bit.  Gilmore is the challenge - he turns it into a full on wrestling match; I usually wind up covered in fur.  That said, it seems to be a game to him because the entire time he's squirming and fighting, he's also purring up a storm.  Crazy cats I have here...

Some cats need a little help.  Without trimming or normal wear, they may grow around into the foot pad.

This is what our cats used to use to trim theirs.

Napping anyone?

Sandwiched between two comfy blankets

or

Freshly washed sheets
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

That is a beautiful black cat :-+

They do like their secluded spaces. Our male cat always hid underneath the duvet when a "stranger" came by :-DD Sure we don't see you because you don't see us, but what about that strange bulge in the duvet :palm:

Cold weather, that is where the cat is now, sleeping nicely under the fluffy blankets, where he feels both comfortable and safe. Cats feel cold easily, despite all the fur.

I threw the sheets on that chair when I pulled them out of the dryer. I noticed he'd found them and I could see his body in them. But it looked awful tight and I thought I'd better see if he got tangled up in that fitted sheet. It seemed like he had wrapped-up too tight and I wanted to make sure he wasn't caught, so I got him out to that point.  :-//

This is the work of three generations of cats...

If I knew everything I'd be starving because no-one could afford me.

I threw that Ikea shelving away a couple of months ago... looks like you could have used some replacement parts.

We lost our cat Sammy in 2019 due to cancer in the kidneys. He was a lovely little devil, always trying to clean out the pots and pans.

He had a good live of six years. Was born on our porch together with his sister.

Billy jumped in the pond for the 8-9th time in his 2 years. He tends to forget the pond while chasing insects. Seen it happen a few times. Kind of funny, especially the amazing speed him coming out of the water.

And people say levitation is impossible.  They’ve obviously never seen a cat that’s unexpectedly landed in water!  They’ll make a Harrier look like an anvil.  :-DD
