MH-M18(clone) Bluetooth module reprogramming possible?
« on: May 09, 2024, 02:42:26 pm »
Is there any way to remove that annoying lady announcement from this bluetooth module?

i ordered a mh-m18 bluetoothaudio recever off amazon and they send me a clone with this annoing announcement. and i noticed, instead of m18 ic, it had a   JL AS208PO1429-25C4  ic.

is it possible to disable this announcement or reprogram its firmware?

Yes, the chip is an AC6925C. This is good because the JieLi chips usually are encrypted with a passkey, but the AC6925C has a flawn that lets you program a new firmware. You need a programmer that just "triggers" the USB bootloader of the chip so a new device in your PC enumerates. I cannot say much more about this topic but i can point you where to find more details.

As a side note, the AC6925C is not a clone of the MH-M18. The MH-M18 is a relabelled AC6925C.

Yes, you may use this tool for reading the encrypted firmware, and programming a new recrypted one (or unencrypted if you reset the chipkey that was set by the manufacturer of the module).

https://github.com/kagaimiq/jl-uboot-tool

And the tools for managing the firmware encryption are here:

https://github.com/kagaimiq/jl-misctools

In this link there is the SDK for the AC692X
https://download.csdn.net/download/ledwin/10883331?utm_source=bbsseo

But i think such SDK is also published any place inside the USMI forum mentioned in my reply above.

Firmware is programmed using something called "Codeblocks".

I don't think so, but I'm not really sure. The MCU core of the AC6965A is different from the AC6925C. Furthermore, the devices sold with the 6965A are locked and encrypted with a chip key that is only known by the device manufacturer, and the workarround for the AC6925 intended for making it blank, doesn't work for the AC6965A (I'm also already waiting for a solution for this later chip).
