I still have zero luck getting inline expandable images. Using the IMG procedure yields the full size image, using attach= yields an image that, when clicked, opens a new tab. I want inline expandable.

Testing the available options:
attach
2518749-0
attachimg

attachurl
* seNT9.jpg (28.69 kB. 709x205 - viewed 101 times.)
attachmini
* et5410ap_mainboard.jpeg
IMG tag

Of course now that I'm looking to find an example I find none... What I'm after is like the expandable footer images but inline.

perhaps?

Use add suitably small xsize and ysize in [img width=xsize height=ysize]URL[/img].

Testing right away:

Does it work?

YES! Thanks a lot!

Giving width or height alone works too, so you don't have to work out the aspect ratio.

Thanks again, that should make my future posts irresistible :palm:

Or perhaps not. The problem with this technique is that the full image is loaded and then scaled to a small area. So your 775K image is downloaded every time your post is viewed. Doesn't sound a lot, but a thread with many such images can become unreadable because the entire thread text is displayed, and then the images are s l o w l y filled in. Each time, the thread text moves down an arbitrary amount, and ultiimately it's just too annoying to follow.

OTOH, the forum way of doing it posts just a thumbnail amount of data and is fast. Only if the viewer clicks the image is the full thing downloaded for display.

What's the most annoying to me is the forum plugin, the one that allows to embed inside a text only the thumbnail, but when clicked, the full picture opens in a new tab, instead of being enlarged embedded inside the text.

Hard to follow, and impossible to save the page with all its included pictures.

Even more, if embedded with the "Inline expandable thumbnail"
Code: [Select]
[attach=n]then the thumbnail at the end of the post are hidden, so no way to have in the same tab both the text and pics.  :rant:
