I think its like suffering from a 48 foot fall rather then a 22 foot fall. getting cleaned out might be another word for it, or thrown off the 4th floor
companies have internal 'purification squads' go out some where if is less then +3% (positive). In their case it started a coup attempt,
https://www.newsweek.com/tesla-investor-calls-board-oust-elon-musk-2048755And all this is despite the US president trying to do damage control with a never before seen advertising stunt. You would expect that this mass exposure advertising would bolster the company.. I wonder how low it would be without that stunt, I assume it only helped them because it was a gigantic advertisement in the end, I believe these types of things generally more positive then negative for the companies involved.
I suspect all of their 'strategic plans' got foiled by this. Like anyone made provisions for this scenario. They were probably arguing if they should go as low as +15% growth expectation (treated as a extremely pessimistic contingency, akin to dooms day prepping) .
And now it looks like driving a tesla truck in some places ends like something out of the movie The Gauntlet (1977). Interesting that if the advertising is true, the owners do get their money's worth from the 'armor features' of the car, in some kinda weirdo self fulfilling prophecy.

I am not interested in petty vandalism, but the fact of the matter is that it IS becoming popular to attack this car in the USA, and that most people don't want to fight raging mobs or deal with vandalism regardless of their political stance.
https://www.newsweek.com/cybertrucks-attacked-during-mardi-gras-parade-2039814This kind of thing can have a lasting effect on sales. I don't see people losing their resolve any time soon, they actually seem to be organizing and getting even more angry. I am waiting to see what happens when more savings accounts run out and former government employees start going bonkers after working in MacDonald's for 2 months. yikes.. and those people know alot more about the legal system and the functions of capabilities of police, compared to engineers (and they likely can organize better and control stupid better)
Alot of potential buyers are lost. For instance rich people buying their kids cars, who is gonna want to risk their family driving around in one of those? Or getting your wife one? It kind of starts to go against the conventional instinct of 'protection' that breadwinners want to offer, typically this does NOT change based on political stance.
