Class D amplifier's gain.
« on: August 16, 2025, 01:47:07 am »
Hi everyone,
I'm doing a small assignment about class D amplifier, but I'm confused while calculating the gain of its. As my teacher said that the gain of class D only depends on the rail voltage, which is ± 150V in this case and the amplitude of the triangle Vtr  should be larger than Vaudio_amp_peak about 80%. So with Vaudio_peak is about 46,5V (at t=), Vtr should be 80,5V. But when doing FFT (with the setting -    Number of data points samples in time: 16777216 and Windowing Function: Flat-top), i know that Vtr also affect the gain of the amplifier.

Voltage gain will basically be the supply voltage of the bridge output divided by the amplitude of ramp waveform used for your PWM modulator.

Is there no feedback loop from the analogue output on class D amps? I ask because that is what sets the voltage gain on an "ordinary" analogue amp.
