Is there alternative to CAN Open magic
« on: February 06, 2024, 10:06:10 am »
I used a trial of CAN Open magic for a week, meh, it's OK but I was not overwhelmed by it. If I look to Kvaser for their CAN Open offering it is canopen magic, if I look at Peak, they also just resell canopen magic.

Does anyone else do software of a similar calibre?

I'm not familiar with CANOpen Magic, but we use Vector CANalyzer for simulation and debugging and at a quick glance it seems to have the same features available (you would need to buy the CANOpen option as well, it doesn't come as standard).

I'm very happy with it, it just works. Might be worth getting in touch and getting a demo to see if you like it.

My employer has developed an internal command line tool for this purpose. I found it useful and started to develop an open source equivalent: CANopenTerm

Best regards,
Michael

PS: After a two-year break, I started to continue development actively. Feature requests, feedback and suggestions are very welcome.
