Simcom module selection

2G network might be shut down in future and I want to migrate from SIM868 (2G) to some module with LTE-M.
I tried using SIM7080G, because it has same footprint and networking alone works great. But it has one limitation. GPS and TCP connection can't operate at the same time (looks I'm not alone with this problem).
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/61857667/sim7080g-module-cant-send-data-over-tcp-while-using-gnss
I want to record location every 15s, and keep TCP connection open. Just turning on GPS to get location and turning it off after receiving location will be too slow. In stackoverflow post there was mention of SIM7000G, but it looks like it's obsolete (

), or is it?
Is there similar module with GPS and LTE-M that can be used at same time?
I would prefer both features in one module over separate modules to keep cost low.
