It's a bit of a shame that datasheets often get updated and their dates changed without a revision table and no hint of when a certain part was first introduced.
But if you want to be sure, the best way is to reverse engineer the part around that transistor and and verify whether the circuit diagram makes sense for the part you suspect it is.
