Need help to identify this transistor 176 051  TO-92 body  It's a npn

What device is this part used in? Are you sure it's an NPN transistor? My first thought is that it might be a J176 JFET.

Hi,

there does exist a 2sc176, a NPN Ge transistor with max 15V and Ft 10 Mhz.
Measuring the diode voltage over the B-E junction will show if it is indeed Ge(0,3V versus 0,6V Si)

TO-92 germanium transistors are rare.

You have schematic without part list?
Having schematic you should be able to select transistor to be used there.

This part drives the base of the main pass transistor which is a 2N6383 NPN darlington.  I have no idea what that exact part is, but there are numerous jellybean parts that would work fine in this position, e.g. 2N3904.

Check pin outs carefully, they may not match the original so you may need to bend the pins and/or rotate the new device to shift the pins into the correct places.
