A few initial impressions (and questions for current owners):
  • Scope seems to run pretty hot. The fan is a small blower type, so high frequency noise akin to a laptop or Steam Deck under load. It's running constantly, and the back is getting warm.
  • Are you able to use standard multimeter probes? The ones that came with my unit have a retractable shroud, and standard probes that don't have a retractable shroud don't fit.
  • What type of multimeter fuse do you have? Is it the ceramic kind that's indicated in the user manual or something else?

standard probes do work, although they barely touch the inner hole.
The fuse is a red small fuse like they use in cars (but smaller).

Does the probe fit all the way into the plug?

:palm: Alright, some questions will need to be asked to leadership.

as mentioned, no, the inner pin touches barely but it does work that way.
But the (lack of) speed when measuring makes the dmm worthless for me.

The beeper is (knowing I have a bad hearing) impossible to hear, so useless too.

MHO1 depth according to manual is 31mm. Shroud length of typical 4mm probes is ~22mm, normal length socket is ~24-26mm (shorter sockets exists). MHO1 likely uses single PCB construction, so 4mm sockets would be a very tight fit. Sockets on the side would not be space limited.

Fuse situation requires more attention if automotive fuse is used.

My observations on the fuse situation:
  • The fuse part number specified in the User Manual (both English and Chinese versions) is 0216010.MXP which appears to be a Littelfuse ceramic part with a 10A @ 250V rating. The fuse holder is also shown with a small indentation in the center of the holder to allow a screwdriver to pry it out for changing. The 10A symbol molded into the holder is centered as well.
  • All variants of the MHO1 that I've seen in the wild at this point (my own, Sorama's unit, the ones shown in videos on bilibili, the one Dave saw at Micsig's Electronex 2025 booth) use a different fuse holder with the fuse symbol and indentation offset to the left and covering presumably an automotive mini-fuse holder. Pictures of my unit and spare fuse are linked below.
  • My assumption is that any MHO1 units with such a mini-fuse should only be used to measure currents in low-voltage circuits up to around 32V max.

I never had high hopes for the multimeter part, but this is somewhat shocking...

Same here. Guess I was first shocked metaphorically, now onto being shocked literally...  :palm: :horse:

I guess this is Micsig's first attempt at a multimeter, so they probably still need to learn alot :-/O

But are we sure that that's the fuse for the current input jack? Maybe its just the battery fuse?
Or maybe the first batch of the MHO1 comes with the blade fuse and later batches with the 0216010.MXP? The littlefuse seems like a decent step up at least...

Still wondering, can anyone confirm the short battery runtime that Wirehead measured earlier? Something not adding up here if you ask me. The manual states 4 hours?

As far as I can tell, it looks a lot like this one to a few dollars, just at an inflated price.. *the green driver-free model https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007343045642.html?
I don't have a MHO model, so make your own due diligence, and if it is in fact just an off-the-shelf "driver-free variant, like the one above.

I bought the one your were linking here, received it on Friday, tried it today.
This driver-free USB WLAN module doesn't do  anything at all on my MHO14-200.

So I took the fuse out and the scope kept on working (on battery);

thanx, so it must be the current input fuse then.

For possible owners looking for these dongles..
I remember in regards to the MHO3, that I saw on Micsig's own Chinese sale-platforms [Taobao/Tmall etc] that they had a certain WIFI dongle listed as Micsig MHO3-compatible.  https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?abbucket=0&id=784171111368

That listing had two options, but since you name "drive free" I reckon it's the green one you received.
As noted, it doesn't list MHO1 specific, only Micsig ETO, MDO & MHO3, but I reckon that could simply be down to that MHO1 is a new model.. released in late May 2025 on the Chinese market and the listing on Tmall/Taobao was older, and only listed the Micig models present at the time..
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?abbucket=0&id=784171111368

So either its because there is variants of them, or that MHO1 is using its own dedicated WIFI dongle.
Contact Micsig and get your heading, and if western resellers are gonna stock their dongles and ask if the dongle differs between ETO/MDO/MHO3 and MHO1.

Seems most of the semi-new Micsig lineup, ETO and below - also lost LAN-interface, while the older STOxxxxC/E models had it all..
But it is kind of cumbersome to connect to it, doesn't look to be the usual run of the SCPI-mill, at least when I tried some time back.

A few notes on the WiFi adapter for the MHO1 (and presumably most of their newer scopes on the same Android build without internal WiFi):
  • I can confirm the RTL8811CU is supported. Many dongles on Amazon that have the same physical design as the one Micsig recommend are reported by customers to use this chipset. I purchased and am using this Cudy WU650 for its compactness.
  • I asked Micsig for a list of supported chipsets / drivers, and the person I spoke with couldn't provide one.
  • If the chipset is supported, the USB dongle can be hotplugged during operation and WiFi will be made available in the system.
  • Other chipsets in the same family may not be supported. I tried the TP-Link WiFI/BT combo device (Archer T2UB Nano) and it definitely does not work. Linux driver support for these combo devices is limited and would require special configurations.
  • I found this USB Hub to fit nicely on the MHO1 in case anyone is trying to use multiple USB devices.

I did a quick hands-on video of the MHO14-200 which finally arrived yesterday. It's not a full run-down and evaluation as I don't have time for it this weekend, but overall seems like a solid piece of equipment. I really would have liked Micsig to include a protective carry case for it, though.

Quoting myself here - guess I was wrong. It seems like the USB adapter I received is simply broken.
I tried plugging it to my PC and the only thing showing up is a CD-ROM emulation with a Windows driver but no other device (network/unknown). I opened oit and luckily it's just broken and no scam, so there is actually wireless hardware on the PCB.

Anyway, bought a different RTL8811CU based WiFi adapter and now it's working.
So I recommend not to buy from the linked Aliexpress dealer. Aliexpress at least fully refunded my money.

Could you take a few pictures of the one you received and the internals.?
