problem with DE-5000 power button
« on: December 02, 2025, 01:36:15 pm »
Hello everyone, I have a problem with my DE-5000. I am able to turn it on by wiggling the battery but I am unable to do so if I press the power button, however the meter turns off if I press the same button when the meter is at "on" state. Do you know what kind of problem it is? Any response (or a DE-5000 schematics from any kind soul who wants to share it) is very appreciated, thx.

Sounds more like a contact problem with the battery or its cable.

It should not switch on automatically if you wiggle the battery.

yes I did replace the negative cable and resolder the negative terminal of the battery on the PCB, because it got corroded due to battery leakage
the problem started after replacing the cable
