That new scope seems way too small for the available space.

I forgot to mention, the above power supplies on/off light out. It is a tiny 117v something. It is only 3/16" in diameter. Does anybody know its manufacturer and part number? Or where to source a viable replacement?

I just bought a pair of Rogers LS6a Studio 200w speakers with 8" woofers . They Sound insanely Perfect ! ! !  Their small package is very deceiving.  INCREDIBLE ! ! !
I Just have to finish refurbing my H.H.Scott R77 and get the whole system up to the living room.

Nice British HiFi speakers. Rogers used to work extensively with the BBC, manufacturing (some of) their monitoring speakers. I don't think the LS6a was directly used by the BBC, they did develop the LS3/6A though, which had an additional midrange driver. The LS6A uses polypropylene woofers which are much nicer sounding than the older over-damped bextrene drivers of the era.

Looks a lot like a neon indicator/lamp to me.
If there is a resistor buried in that black sleeve (behind the red diffuser in your photo) then it is almost certainly a neon.

Mr. B, Thank YOU for identifying this bulb ! !  Neon makes great sense.   I have a feeling the resistor disintegrated as only the black insulated wire You saw behind the lens was left dangling and fell off as I was taking the bulb out .... and there wasn't any remnants of the other lead. The resistor must have escaped out of the big ventilation holes and headed for the hills.

Looking through my ancient collection of miscellaneous electronic things, I found a couple neons soldered together. The first try went zenon with 10k ohms. Luckily it's siamese twin looks pretty good with 70K. By jove I think Your 'brilliant' Mr. B ! ! !

Thanks Gyro,  You enticed me to look up early Rogers BBC monitors and found that those are quite rare going for thousands.
Note that these LS6a's that I bought are Black. I was told they are sold to recording studio's, no fancy wood, just beautiful sound......
