Thunderf00t is trying his best to make everyone aware of the difference between what Elon Musk says and what he does. I look at him as an EV version of Apple's Steve Jobs. Jobs made lots of promises that were failures, had a management style that rubbed several people up the wrong way. They both have (or had) several very good engineers working with them to make sure the tirades turned into tangible products. Removing Electric Jesus from Tesla will probably pop its balloooooooooon stock valuation in seconds.
As for DOGE, it is all about protecting Musk's interests, that is all.
Thunderf00t's channel is also attempting to teach viewers basic arithmetic, logic and reasoning. However, the number of people caught up in pump-and-dump memecoins makes me laugh, but also shocked, at the poor level of financial education in the US.
I drive a Swastikar and I am pleased with it as an EV - it's plenty quick enough, quiet, comfortable, good range and costs me next to nothing to charge at home overnight.
However, the "autopilot"/FSD is bollocks, I had the "hell no!" moment when driving on a busy "A" road where the left side line disappeared and a bit later the middle line markings disappeared (road resurfacing works) and damn did the car just steer itself into oncoming traffic - this is why you've got to keep your hands on the wheel and pay attention! I never used FSD again, it's like tutoring a teenager learning to drive.
Even when FSD is switched off there are other "driver aids" that make me say "f**k off Felon Husk" when the steering wheel is grabbed out of my hands for "corrective input" from the onboard computer because of some anomaly in the perception of the camera with the road. The cruise control is hilariously bad, coming up behind a slow vehicle, I indicate and pull out, I am now about to pass the vehicle and suddenly the car slows down and stays level with the rear quarter of the vehicle I am trying to overtake, almost like it is thinking of doing a PIT... foot in the carpet again...
Don't get me started on the AWD traction and stability - drive over a wet cattle grid/grille/grate on a corner and just put in the gentlest of throttle and the damn car wants to spin around. On my old BMW, that would need pedal to the metal and opposite lock to overcome the traction and stability programmes (not cheating by turning them off, a stupid thing to do in the wet)
It is not a vehicle for an enthusiastic driver, for example, the computer decides that when I switch from accelerator to brake quickly whilst coming into a roundabout and I see where I am going to fit in etc. then it decides to come to a complete ABS dead stop - all in the name of "collision prevention" - I am just hoping the driver behind swerves out of the way in time. It senses the abrupt switch from accelerator to brake, then decides with the vehicles around and not knowing where those will be in the future, that it is responding to an emergency braking scenario...
A "robo taxi" isn't going to happen when FSD is decades away from not randomly wanting to kill someone/you/itself.
I am tired of seeing videos rehashing Musk's failures, but perhaps it is because I am not a TikTok user and do remember what happened last decade, last year, last month et.c...
