Oh yeah now update the instructions. Remove battery. Dremel slots. Install strap.
I was just laughing. Inside it looks flat but the back looks recessed pseudo-handle or something. Battery is around 5mm thick.

No rotary switch saves a lot of room. But not the greatest mech - the battery clumsily ends up on top of the fuse, and other stuff, might muffle the buzzer the plastic.
Maybe a bit of wasted money on all the JST connectors and wires and screws. Not sure what PCB "20250523- V1.20-0.5mm" means, who is 0.5mm? Some edge clearance I guess.
I don't see the usual external VREF IC. The one inside the jungle IC doesn't usually perform well.

We'll probably get a good laughter if you review it in a video.

Watch it turn out to be his favorite meter.  :-DD

for sure they did not think safety   loll

for the ref ?  maybe everything is in that jungle ic ?     i'll check mine when it arrives,   1x ic  to do all ??  could be,   even displays now can be driven by spi  or very low pin counts ...

sadly the teardown  did not gave that ic markings ...

Huaruisheng CR216 DMM IC features 4kHz response, faster capacitance test, and inductance measurement capability.
Oh it's got a continuity LED.

"H" button and "H" LCD icons for function and units - it measures HELL!
Are you in hell, how much hell. Explains the Anti-Burn technology.
How do you calibrate the Hell units? Metrology people could use a transfer standard from when trying to procure U180. That is hell.

Also "GW" units? VA etc. The LCD design seems to be a generic. Can't see 1.21 in this multimeter's future lol.
edit: that is only in Reply #53 thm_w's pic.

no  just needed a good charge, arrived with a very low battery, would not power up    loll

it is a bulky meter  loll compared with an Beelink EQ mini pc, same thickness    loll

NEXT TO THE CR216 IC  there is an 24C02  eeprom, ill try to read it,   if i find my pomona clip   :palm:

EDIT   having too much time on my end  i bought this variant   Xin tester XT-R2     loll   picture attached,  saved 5$ with coupon, in the end it cost less than the 626 ?

IDK if this is a failure of not doing any market research, toxic positivity, or cultural differences mean that they think this is actually good looking. Like when they had the design done, did they stop and showed it to anyone, or just signed off on it?

Sounds like you're describing the PT Cruiser... I think they sold a single one of those in Australia [X], and that was to someone who'd lost a bet.

[X] Figure totally made up.

datasheet of the CR216 chipset and some schematic in it

other el cheapo meter have began to use this CR216 too  :  Tianyu T21L

seems to have an possible serial port,  maybe some eeprom hack may render it active ?

some seems to say it has some ressembleance with dtm0660 eeprom contents

CALIBRATION :   need to be verified,   be careful,  from mydigit.cn  google translated ...

Calibration method: hold down the function key to turn on, there is a display of a similar version number,
and then continue to press the function key, the screen appears 0, the top right corner has an automatic shutdown symbol flashing!
The standard values of each block input are calibrated according to the hold.

It's so bad, I didn't even watch the whole video.
But out of curiosity, why buy and review it?

Because people asked for it?  There's a million "I bought the cheapest/lowest-rated/dodgiest stuff on Temu" videos so obviously there's a demand for it.

On a vaguely related note, did anyone else think of this video when they heard the "haitch"es?

Nice dimple on the battery.

I wonder if the H on the bottom row is Henries, but maybe only works when plugged into the Amps jack. I don't care enough to search it. ;)

You know you have a quality product when the marketing picture manages to make almost half a dozen mistakes in one single image:
Bench PSU shows 9.72v > meter shows 9.72mV
Bench PSU shows 0.549A so it must mean the meters input resistance is 17.7Ω ???
Text says "adjusted to ... current" when making a voltage test.
The text claims the measured incorrect voltage of 9.72mV is efficient and accurate, ehhhh, what?

OK, this one is rubbish, as expected.
Don't worry, there's a suitable Aneng for everyone.  ;)
Perhaps an “auto repair" multimeter would be more interesting?

I can help with that: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ANENG-623-Anti-burn-Flip-Multimeter_1601425709103.html  :-DD

I actually find the laptop design quite practical.
If it were a little more accurate, you could use it as a simple benchtop meter.
At least it doesn't tip over when you press the buttons with one hand.
I'm not so sure about the Victor 8045mini in this regard.

Ignore all the electronics bits. This meter looks perfect for a raffle-meter. It looks like the range dial has 11 options. You designate 10 random names/objects to all the ranges, so it becomes a wheel of fortune. The "Auto" option is a respin. Press and hold SEL and you can pick winners at random!!

But wait, there is more! The display dead zone is perfect for an unedited, live on camera, cliff hanger. I heard this goes hard on the youtube likes and retention as it significantly increases dramatic effect. Who actually won? We don't know, nobody actually knows. Until it falls back on its crap stand and you can finally read it.

If its not useful for that.. then I invite someone to 3D print their own back cover that does integrate a wrist strap so you can show people with Rolex watches who is boss.

Okay I will stop the smoking green stuff. What a piece of crap. This meter would probably have been a million time more bareable if it replaced the hold button with a range up/down button. But multiply a million with "zero" utility is still "zero".
