I have created a large definition to support all ME31 modules (9 in total) from Ebyte. This definition is my 31st and the largest to date 105kb with 282 created scpiCmd's. It was fun writing it and it has been tested on all meta's using a simulator device.

Added, thanks.

I have updated my definition for the XEXX0600 / XEXX0800 K-type and XDXX0400 / XDXX0800 PT100/PT1000 Temperature Acquisition modules from Ebyte.

The XDXX now also supports PT1000 sensors.

Also included is my one click graph setup and coloring using the Other Menu which saves a lot of time !

Please add them to the next release of TestController.

Updated, thanks.

I wanted to do something simple today, so I took a look at the indicator and ways to format it.
This lead to a :indicator: tag that can have a couple of parameters:
Shape: circle, round, rounded, rectangle, square
A border size, usually 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4
A border color, it can be a color name or a (r,g,b) specification.
Any of these parameters can be used in any sequence and not all need to be present.
Like this:
:indicator: square 4 blue
:indicator: circle 3 (255,255,255)
:indicator: 2
When a border is added, TC will draw the control without fading at the border

Any other ideas for it? more shapes?
The default setting is:
:indicator: rounded 0 black
This is the same as the old indicator.

There is a test version download with this in it and I hope when it is used it will look better than my experiment:

What would be the purpose of that? Fonts has a background and a line color.
The indicators are drawn use standard drawing functions:  fillRect, fillRoundRect, fillOval
Java has other functions that can be used, especially fillPolygon where I can specify a shape with a list of points.

I wonder if fill3DRect is worth using.

I don't know if i do something wrong.
In a #pgm# i can write to my device, but i am not able to read.

part of the code is.

var result = "Something"
result=deviceRead(handle, "SA");

varOutputStatus =  "result= " + result

The result is empty even when a set it before

#idString Zera, VCS320,GEtval
#name Zera VCS320
#handle VCS320
#port com
#baudrate 9600
#driver Ascii
#eol \r\n

var result=deviceRead(handle, "SA");
varOutputStatus =  "result= " + result.

De result is empty

I hope it is a typo that you do not have a space in varOutputStatus
To return results you need to place the value as a result, i.e.:
"123"  will return 123
"result= " + result will return the string
But "var OutputStatus =  "result= " + result" will not return anything, it has no result.

Also: You use SA, not SA? I hope you have a definition that handles that.

varOutputStatus is my own format and is used throug the defintition. There is also een OutputStatus as a info control and with varOutputStatus i know the difference.

A part of the debug window. There is nox Rx transmission. I don't know why.
Code: [Select]
VCS320: Tx <Program 50 Fset Symmetric 40 1 R A 120 1 1 Angle 40 40 40 0 120 240 1 1 1 30 150 270 A A A A A A A A A A>
VCS320: Script start
VCS320: Tx <SA>
VCS320: Script end <>

The command is passed through your definitions, i.e. without a definition for SA, it will not work.
Also be aware that a #pgm# cannot call another #pgm#, it will be unpredictable.

Simple and fun shapes. Is there some other standard like direct emojis or something you could use?

Not really, I have to use a list of points to draw a shape.
The size is 20 dots high (less with border), i.e. there is not that much space for fancy shapes.
With can be the same (like square and circle) or it can be variable to a much larger size.

result=deviceRead(handle, "Angle?");

Finaly works. But i am not that good in reading instructions :palm:

deviceRead(device,scpi_commands)
deviceReadBytes(device,scpi_commands)
deviceWriteBytes(device,scpi_command,data{,eol})
deviceReadBMP(device,scpi_commands)

I thougth that handle used the litteral between "" so for example "SA" wil write SA. But is clear that you say that i need a scpi command or a #scpiCmd.

The default setting is:
:indicator: rounded 0 black
This is the same as the old indicator.

I would like to have an option to not show text.

#cmdSetup indicatornum Sample_Status Measure
:read: sampleError?
OK 0 (238,238,238)
SMPL_ERROR 1 red

When my command returns 0 is do not want to see the control and also not the text of the control.

Same with many equipment, they only report errors and nothing when no errors.

If SA is command that your device understand, it is like deviceWrite(handle,"tx SA")

It does not work this way i guess. But i will try.

VCS320: Script start
VCS320: Tx <Tx AW>
COM6: Tx: <AW..> 41 57 0D 0A

Ok that worked, but there is not an answer

For know i needed
result=deviceRead(handle, "Angle?");

Angle? is my own #scpiCmd en that needs between " "

I am very happy with the rectangle led.
De round has stange spikes or things around it in the border. For me ik like just plane round.

Then an indicator with a colored text rather than a symbol. So a green OK and and and red ERROR.

Then we do not need OK: or ERROR: so no :

tx do not expect an answer, it has to be some sort of txrx?

The square indicators looks good in your layout.
I do not now what you mean with the strange spikes and note there is both round and circle. Round will usually look a bit (or very) squashed due to the width being (much) larger than the height.

Tx to others off forum responses we found a 2nd setting.

In Menu -> "Mode Setup" there is a drop down menu which includes "CC", "CP", and more, but no "Battery" mode.

However, if you click on Menu -> "Program Setup" mode, clicking on the mode gives you a drop down list which does include "Battery" mode with "OCP" & "OPP" modes as well.

Now to work on getting more reporting integrated into testController comparable to the ET5410A+!

I made a close up. Know i see because it off the limitations of the graphic resolution. Its is not real round. I understand that there will be always limitation.

I am very happy with my rectangles and thanks for the shapes, everyone can choose its own style that is what i wanted

Java may not do a perfect circle in this low resolution, but it (probably) smooths the borders. The graphic in Java works with better than pixel resolution and will blend neighboring pixels to get the smoothest result (How much depending on some graphic options)
Note how you seldom see dots in small drawings today, this is because mostly the software will blend between pixels to get the smoothest result (And, of course, due to higher screen resolution).

I am very happy with my rectangles and thanks for the shapes, everyone can choose its own style that is what i wanted

And it was fairly easy to do.

Can we have :color: and :bgcolor: support for #cmdSetup infoAsk and info ?

It will be useful when alerting values, so the user sees when something is off.

:color: is mostly for buttons and is supported on the infoAsk button.
I have added :bgcolor: to the data labels on the two controls.

But with a dark background the text will be hard to read.

#cmdSetup separator also supports :color:

I am looking for a way to have a text in a different color dynamically.
