Well, we shall see. It's on the torture rack for many hours of burn-in. And it has already demonstrated some reliability after the HV fix and has over 8 hours on it. But this little guy does run HOT.  So once the fan base is restored it will go up on it.

finally done something productive today.

- revived a C246 workstation board (Fujitsu enhanced temperature range blablabla ...), it's passing self test now with 32GB mem, a 9400F, NVME SSD and a GTX1660 (only card I had floating around which I could power with a reasonable power supply.

Turned out that the Quadro that was originally in there had a nasty short.

- revived my mini itx enhanced temperature range industrial board which I had cannibalized to revive the C246 board ...

Both are working now.

Compensation adjustments on the Type 310A. Set up with the Heath IG-4244 Scope Calibrator. The adjustments fell right into place quickly and with minimal interactions between ranges unlike some scopes where the adjustments are real fiddly. Sample result on screen. Nice square corner.

So......Sweep timing was dead nuts.
Trigger just needed a tweak.
Calibrator output dead nuts.
Vertical gain: This is where the pot twist monkey spend all his time. Now calibrated.
Compensation done. This project is now complete.



And just for fun. 1MHz square wave. For a scope with 4MHz bandwidth that is not too shabby. 

I have a question:
How does the illumination of the grid work?
I looked for some kind of a light source but wasn't able to find one.

Well I see the comedians are at it again.  But in a way it IS on fire inside with all those vacuum tubes packed in like sardines in a can. 

But anyway....to answer the BURNING question concerning the screen illumination. All it is are two #47 lamps with a plastic grid over the front of the CRT with a bezel to hold it in place. Nothing fancy or unusual.
