Correct

The eeprom contents are editable in the cameras service menu after entering the required password.

I have a E40 mk2 can explain you me how to access to the service menu and share the password ?

Is the service menu the same as the one we have to go to change the usb mode ? Or is it only for accessible on the mk1 version ?

If yes I think it is only editable on the mk1 version. My E40 mk2 do not have this menu. Or perhaps I need to downgrade the firmware ?

Yes that is the correct menu and it is present on my E40 Mk1.

Some Mk2 owners have reported that they have the Service Menu in their camera. It would appear that some do and some do not  I do not know whether a firmware downgrade would provide the service menu for your camera.

You need 3.18 firmware (can be found in this forum). I have a E40 mk2 and get this menu after downgrading.
