Last two in Falkra's post = what made me be defiant and just start soldering myself. When I was but a wee player, my Mom wouldn't allow me to use the soldering iron - I had a few kits and projects that needed to be soldered, not everything was my 150-in-One spring board stuff. Before I was born, she soldered all day every day at work - making transformers. Long about the second or third time she burnt my finger while I held the connection and she tried to solder I had enough and made her just give me the soldering iron and I finished myself, without further self injury and without melting any parts.
