On Apple stuff, the iCloud 'Private Relay' (aka VPN) service may be blocked by recent forum changes.
Can anyone else confirm this?
The IP reported by bicycleguy was incorrectly flagged as belonging to a major data center, it has been rectified.

Doubtful, no apple owned IP ranges had been blocked. Can you please DM me with the IP of your system when you have this issue while on the Apple VPN
IP provided by
@voltsandjolts belongs to CloudFlare which had to be blocked, it was one of the worst offenders and will not be unblocked.

Using Cloudflare as some sort of VPN?
Seems so, looks like they offer a VPN service to large companies.
Can anyone else confirm this?
I use Apple Private Relay on 2 Mac devices, and an iPhone, I ca't access EEVBlog on any of them from home or when away, unless I turn off Private Relay.
Please stop replying to this thread unless you have an actual server error to report. Blocked VPN networks are not server errors and have only been blocked due to abuse originating from these networks.
Is the site on a go slow or is the problem somewhere else? Seems to only be this site ,at least from here .Apparently theres 142569 Guests viewing the site so i guess that may slow things down a bit.

Same here.
Also, sometimes getting (probably related):
502 Bad Gateway
nginx
Yep record hits are growing daily....173827 online now.....the EEVblog servers are struggling under the strain.
Struggling to say the least.

It takes seconds to load a page. Started this afternoon already. My time, which is Paris/Amsterdam time. Now 20:25 still slow as hell.
Long response times here as well.
Is it AI harvesting or what's up?
Same here, much worse than normal.

X2. Posting anything or loading a page is VERY slow.
138901 Guests, 270 Users
Totally insane, I guess gnif has to block some ip ranges again but I fear this will be a lost battle soon.
Maybe only allow logged in users in the near future? It's a bad idea but what else can be done?

Then the AI, can create user(s) (as many as needed, perhaps hundreds of new ones), just to do the web-crawling, so that wouldn't necessarily work.
I thought there were already rate limits (per time period, such as hourly), per IP address, to control/limit web-crawling and similar from loading/slowing this website by too much.
Edit: Typos
Maybe the AI created users are easy to spot and delete? If there is a rate limit it doesn't seem effective, and AFAIK these crawling thingies are changing IP constantly.

The great part about the forum is that it's heavily indexed for public searching.
I noticed that the peak number of guests today set a new record.
Still showing a 135,000 guests, but forum response is now instant again. Must be a stats lag there.
Shortly after that post, things looked good, but now it’s slowing down again.

Can confirm, super slow process to log in and pages hesitate when loading.

The internet is busted.
Last 5 minutes it's been wonderfully fast...
