Quote from: shabaz on 16 May, 2024 03:18What makes you think people don't know that?Oopsie, me soooo sorry, I didn't know the rule that says that only widely unknown things can be said here.Quote from: shabaz on 16 May, 2024 03:18No-one normal cares about a number '12', they care about actually using 'scopes in real-life scenarios, to see the benefit (or lack of) for real applications. There's a whole thread concerning that with a different (lower-cost) 12-bit 'scope.Oh, is that so? Really? Well, actually market observation, as well as quite some posts here, strongly suggest that many do care about "a number '12'", in fact so much so that they desire or even buy a "a number '12'" scope. But funnily that wasn't even the gist/main point of my post. It's just what you chose to pick out.Quote from: shabaz on 16 May, 2024 03:18Those who want to wait around for 12 to mean what you want it to mean, can knock themselves out, ...So you are a master of telepathy and know my intentions? I'm deeply impressed.Quote from: shabaz on 16 May, 2024 03:18meanwhile, the normal world will still try out the instruments, and if there is no improvement, or if performance is worse, or is sluggish in response, then people won't buy it - that's what forums are good at, sharing the feedback. Thanks for telling me what forums are good at, master! And that's very valuable information because I happened to be a forum admin more than once over a few decades and run one myself for a good ten years. And now, - finally! - thanks to you generously sharing your wisdom, I'm learning what forums are good at/for.Quote from: shabaz on 16 May, 2024 03:18You actually have zero useful feedback in that long comment; everyone knows the 12 doesn't indicate ENOB.a) again, my main point wasn't that '12 bits' != '12 bits ENOB'. If you want to focus on that then my point rather was "16 or even 18 bits with a 12 bit ADC is BS".b) so, you know (or decide?) what's useful feedback and what not - not just for you but generally? You see, I know the anglo-saxon "water hole" mentality and have developed quite some tolerance and patience for its proponents and the same holds true wrt to "I don't care, all I want is this or that practical information"; in fact, in my professional field I'm quite generously sharing. But - and that's an important 'but': I will not give up on culture and trying to dig a bit deeper than the surface; I myself occasionally just need a practical bit, a quick solution or answer to a problem, but generally I want to dig deeper, I want to know how things work, I want to really understand. And I don't care a flying f#ck about pleasing everyone, especially wrt people who arrogate to define for others how to think and what to say.I absolutely dislike forum private wars but if I have to I'll fight and experience tells me who tends to win.So, how about "live and let live"? I've attacked nobody here and intend to keep it that way. Are you able to let me write my posts in peace, too?Quote from: pdenisowski But I do appreciate the feedback and I'm very sincere when I say that we are always interested in hearing which features / capabilities are most needed by our (potential) customers, so please do let us know!Uhum ...
