Thanks everyone. Found the information. Did the upgrade and update. So far everything works.
New FW for the 815 just popped up:
DSA815 FW-Version: 00.01.09
I've requested it, but will probably be ignored as usual.
Received my new DS1104Z-S (FW 00.04.00) and i can confirm that generated unlock codes work on this scope also.

Does anyone know what's fixed/changed in this version?
Can you post a change log or the release notes or something?

Rigol doesn't keep a change log. Or a version history. Or even a single download link where you can find *any version of the firmware at all*
Yes, I understand the principle that new firmware doesn't add new features and "if it ain't broke for you, don't fix it." Except that it's constantly broken.
Well, when I asked for firmware update through my distributor, I got docs and full version history..
Did you even try to do that?, or just guessing?
I don't have a distributor, I won the scope straight from rigol. Whenever I want a firmware update, I report a bug and they send a binary. I asked for a change log and they said 'I have no idea, sorry."
If you are talking to them directly, try to find Chen Rui, he is the author of it. (For the ds2000/a)
Ahh, maybe that's the problem. The ds2000 DOES have a defined firmware download page, though you have to submit a request. The ds1000z isn't in that system yet (however that works).
I'll try asking by name next time though to see if he isn't a dedicated ds2000 firmware team member.

I don't suppose you've tested if this firmware can save waveforms from memory to USB drive?
I'm trying to save a long waveform that I'm viewing via dual time base to disk and it'll only save what's on the screen.
I get "Not Support" when trying to save the memory, rather than the option simply being unavailable.

I havent even found out how to record..
n00b...
I just received my DP832. But they shipped it with the new firmware 00.01.09.00.01 there doesn’t support downgrade. So the key generator doesn’t work.
I'm in the same boat. Got a DP832 today.
I'd like to at least get the Accuracy option... if anyone has any clue...
When someone with know-how obtains a DP832, they'll do what they can. Maybe they'll figure it out, maybe they won't.
In the meantime, you have exactly what you paid for. If that is not what you wanted to hear, I'm sorry. Wait, and someone will get to it when they're motivated to.
Have any of you hacked-DS2000A owners loaded the latest firmware version 00.03.00.01.03 with success? By success I mean verified that the hacked options remain installed? I want to make sure Rigol didn't figure out some way to nullify hacks. I know, I know - the FW upgrades should not impact installed options, but I want to be sure before pulling that trigger. Thanks.
No problems here - Loaded the new firmware and all options still available
Just waiting a while to see if 300MHz is available when demo options run out!

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure why you're waiting for the 300MHz. That upgrade worked fine for five of us with the DS2000A scopes.

It just doesn't want to accept the code at the moment - All options works ok, but trying to get 300MHz and options always says 'Licence Unavailable'.
Have seen somewhere that it maybe related to trial options still being available - Time will tell!

Huh. All five of our scopes were upgraded when they were essentially new, with maybe 90% of the trial hours on the options still remaining. I can't understand why you're having that problem.
My A-S did the same, so I gave up and switched to the modified 2.x "non-A keys" firmware. All opened up and 300MHz. Not got round to having another go yet.
Might be worth starting a new thread with those of us having this problem to see of it is a board revision problem etc seeing as many have achieved the desired result.
Also handy if those who have got 300MHz post their versions.

Off topic.
Please discuss firmware changes and bugs in this topic instead:

Yep, that is true. I was hoping all options would come with trials. I wanted to play with the trigger options to see if it was worth the money. I can understand not having Accuracy and RS-232 and LAN enabled. Those could make a user upset if it expired and he wondered why accuracy dropped. Still a great value for the money.
Do they not come with trials? I know on the DS1104z they all came with trials.
