This can be reproduced with 3209 fw also.

Do you have new 3209 firmware?
What software version does your oscilloscope have?
There is no update on the huntek site.

I posted it in the shared folder on Dave alphas linked Google drive. It was from hantek for my 2 week old dso2d10 in response to it locking up. It is the most recent software but will also update the firmware to 3209

On Dave alphas linked Google drive the folder Writable is empty and the folder Firmware/System updates has no such file dso3kb_20240326.upk.
Could you please post your SW and FW file from Hantek once more on the Dave alphas linked Google drive. Thanks in advance.

Where? Must be  uploaded here.

Recently I blocked several idiots using the folder as personal storage and deleted their garbage, I didn't see any hantek-related stuff (Lots of very small files), but maybe I missed them?

Lol, I will reupload it... I even renamed it when I discovered only some of the upks also updated the firmware number.

EDIT: Done, can someone confirm dave hasn't gone scorched earth on the upload folder and it is actually there!! (thanks for the resources dave, i have small fonts and overclock and i even had the complete backup..). until the usb stick got corrupted to remind me i didn't back up the backup!

Thanks, added to the FAQ.
Also made a package updating only the software (Skipping FW3209) so it doesn't break FW31xx models.

Update done!

Looks like a good version, at first glance.
The buttons respond better again than with 3208.
Seems quite stable.

Thanks to DavidAlfa and OLderDan!  :-+

My DSO2C10 arrived a few days ago.

Software: 1.0.3.0.0(230831.00)
Firmware:3205

I've read the FAQ and understood most of it - I think!

So far I have:
  • created a Flash Backup using DSOFLASH
  • confirmed I have GD5F1GQ5UEYIG memory
  • created a Backup Builder Backup
  • succesfully completed the 2D15 conversion mod - Model updated to 2D15, Wave generator is functioning >:D
So far so good and a big  :-+ for all the work that has gone into providing this fantastic resource.

Now I am a little unsure about updating Firmware and Software so I have a few questions:

  • Can/Should I update to latest Firmware 3209_B209
  • Can/Should I update to latest System Update 2024.03.26
  • If yes should I update in that order - Firmware then Software
  • What is the FPGA FW (2024.03.26_fpga_3209), do I need to update this separately
  • With GD5F1GQ5UEYIG memory is there increased risk - bearing in mind the two backups I have taken

I'm sure these are dumb questions looking from 18 months and 76 pages of trial and error context but just from the FAQ I'm not sure I understand the update variations entirely.

Thanks for indulging my noobness!

......waits by the door coat in hand just in case  :-[  :palm:

  • No
  • This upk-file updates SW to 2024.03.26 and FW to 3209, you could but not should update SW and FW together
  • Having the Flash Backup - no risk even if your device becomes bricked, in this case the Backup Builder Backup will not help at all - only the Flash Backup will help

Why not? As far as I know all 32xx firmwares should work in scopes that originally came with some 32xx version, which are all since 2021 or so.
Same with software, I would try, shouldn't cause any issues, whether it has one flash type or another it doesn't matter, that's managed by the kernel, which the software updates never touch.

As long as you made your backups, there's nothing to worry about!

Thanks David.  :-+

I misunderstood vistorik.

I read "can, not should" to be a warning not to!

I have read further into the thread and now understand (hopefully) the 3 types of update files:
  • 3209_B209 - updates firmware only (not software)
  • 2024.03.26 - updates software only (not firmware)
  • 2024.03.26_fpga_3209 - updates both firmware and software
So I'll use "2024.03.26_fpga_3209" to update to the latest firmware and software. ;D

Hi,
Maybe this was already mentioned here, but I didn't find it.

As you can see on the screenshot. why is my scope not showing the frequency of the second channel ?

Is it some known bug or is it some new ?

Thanks

Martin

But that's only the case for DVM mode, isn't it?
The normal display (at the bottom) via “Type” always works for me.
I don't know exactly why, but in DVM mode a symbol for the second trigger is displayed.
Try moving it, then it also works for me in DVM mode.

FWIW, if you have an old model with firmware 310X, I'd advise NOT to upgrade to any software released in 2024.
Buttons are not working properly (had to press up to 5 times for any button to work) and USB detection only works after a fresh power off/power on.

I had to rollback to the latest 2023 version in order to get the scope to work as expected.

If anyone with a 310X firmware has a solution for those new 2024 firmwares, let me know.

Cheers everyone and keep up the good work.

Which exact version do you mean?
I had problems with the responsiveness of the buttons with 3208, but with 3209 it's fine again. (I got my scope with 3205 btw).

What you shouldn't do is to update the FW version to 32xx if the scope came with 30xx or 31xx.
But the software, I didn't find ant issue.
Just don't apply any package that force-updates the FW.
