It seems my touchpad has gone crazy.
When I press it, the wrong button works. Even if I don't press anything, the buttons themselves work chaotically.
And even on the standard firmware. Maybe someone can tell me where to look for the cause?
Or maybe there was a short circuit in the touchpad and it failed?

It seems my touchpad has gone crazy.

- disconnect the oscilloscope from the charger  ???
(during simultaneous operation and charging, especially through a bad charger, there may be problems with the touchpad, but when working from the internal battery, the touchpad problems stop))

- if the problems started immediately after loading the firmware, then perhaps you have a "non-standard touchpad" and you need to load another configuration sector using Loader -> on the "LCD/TP Config" tab
(only needed if the display is shifted or the touch panel responds inverted for X, Y or both)

- but when running the standard firmware from FNIRSI everything should work fine
(otherwise it looks like a physical breakdown of your touchpad  :()

P.S. my touchpad goes crazy when i measure 200v impulses and move my finger to the screen (but then everything becomes normal after measurements - this is normal for touchscreens)

Sooo... today I used the oscilloscope after a month or two and the SD got corrupted somehow?   A black screen with red text appeared out of nowhere and told me the boot sector couldn't be found. The oscillsocope rebooted and it went back to factory firmware.

Reflashing the firmware fixed the problem but.... the calibration is gone and I never made a backup  :palm:  Furthermore, I don't have a power supply or even a potentiometer where I am  :palm: :palm:

I'm thinking the original 4 gig SD that came with the oscilloscope is not really reliable......  Has this happened to anyone here?

Edit: It actually came with a card of 8GB

The oscilloscope works from the internal battery. Charging is discontinued.

The touchpad is standard, something just happened to him. This happens after a few minutes of work

1013d there are cases of physical defects of the touchpad
https://youtu.be/3luKCiIp6x4
it is best to return the defective device to the seller
(or open a dispute on Aliexpress)

you can try to disassemble the oscilloscope (very simple)
disconnect the battery!
check the touchpad connector - disconnect/connect (small connector as in the video 3:54)
https://youtu.be/icEOObX1NdM?t=234
in attached video there was a problem with a defective voltage regulator MIC2302 - check your voltage regulator:
https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/MIC29302A.pdf
2 pin - voltage input up to +15V
4 pin - voltage output to the microcontroller - IT SEEMS LIKE 3.3 volts, I don't remember exactly

Hello!
I'm new to this forum.
I've read all 130 pages.
I hope I can solve the software replacement.
But I have a problem with the used, faulty 1013D scope.
After switching on, the display and the touch screen work fine.
But the CH1 and CH2 beams do not appear on the display.
I would like to ask for help with which IC, which leg should I start measuring to isolate the faulty component?
The power supply produces all voltages without noise.
The input point is ANALOG1_ADC_INPUT and the 2ch channel is also the VRF1 voltage that can be measured.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards. M.

Check the reference voltage and the 100r resistor that pulls the BNC to Vref1. The schematics are in the pcprogramer repository.
FNIRSI 1013D Always provide a picture or video with the problem where the parameters of the oscilloscope are visible, and a picture of the diagnostic screen with the values.

Thank you for your help.
I have my drawing.
The outer housing of the BNC is also on the VRF1 voltage.
If anyone has any other ideas, I would be happy to hear them.

So the analog DC input has a voltage Vref1 and what is its value? What is the voltage on pin number 3 of the AD converter? What is the voltage on pins 5 6 7, they are connected.

Just updated my 1013D since a long time. New functionality looks good!

Just have some issues (V0.26V5)
- battery status shows: 0
- DC offset after calibration (approx 7%, calibrated on a PSU but maybe a little noisy. Does calibration take average measurments?)
- Calibration temperature shows: 99 C

Thanks!
Rolf

last firmware 0.26v7
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/fnirsi-1013d-100mhz-tablet-oscilloscope/msg6002119/#msg6002119

best use for calibration BATTERY and 50k-100k potentiometer (i use two serial connected battery 9V and 9V) like this post:

Thanks for the wrap up, that helps!  :-+

It's funny, I worked with lots of scopes but I really like this one, just to grab it and do some quick measurements. Most of the time I don't need high accuracy or advanced signal analysis.

For the ones working on MacOS, here are the terminal commands to update the firmware:
1. Connect the scope to the Mac via USB, turn it on and start the USB connection from the main menu.

2. Wait until the SD card shows up in Finder.

3. Find disk:
Code: [Select]
diskutil list Look for the scope’s SD card (something like /dev/disk3) and replace the found disk identifier for the next commands.

4. Unmount disk:
Code: [Select]
diskutil unmount /dev/disk?s1
5. Copy f/w to scope:
Code: [Select]
sudo dd if=fnirsi_1013d.bin of=/dev/disk? bs=1024 seek=8
6. Unmount disk:
Code: [Select]
diskutil unmount /dev/disk?s1
7. Reboot scope (off/on)

And if the SD card was never properly partitioned or lacks the bootloader, check my older post: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/fnirsi-1013d-100mhz-tablet-oscilloscope/msg3942868/?topicseen#msg3942868

Hello!
I measured both inputs at the AD converter.
The Analog_ADC_Input is 1.24 V.
The voltage of pins 5, 6, 7 is 1.2 V.
The voltage of ADC_Offset after the two filter elements is 1.86 V.
What voltage should I check after these to find out which component is faulty?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards. M.

Have you tried running the basic calibration with the probes disconnected?

Where is it located?
Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for the updates!
Thanks, Atlan.

I used a cheap FNIRSI handheld multimeter/oscilloscope/sginal generator for doing the DC shift calibration.
Thanks Russell2024UK for the video!

After proper calibration measurements are very accurate.  :-+

How many people here have an oscilloscope with an AL3-10 chip, know how to solder, and aren't afraid of experimenting?

EF2 has firmware in its flash. AL3 has firmware in spi memory outside the fpga. So I think that with a small modification it would be possible to change the fpga firmware through the oscilloscope user interface. Remove the fpga memory chip, and connect the fpga to the memory for the uP f1c100
Of course, firmware that would support it.

Hi!

Excuse me if already asked, but is there are incompatible revisions of hardware for this custom firmware by Atlan?
Original FNIRSI firmware works fine, i can do a baseline calibrate without problem. If i load 0.26v5 (tried other versions too) then i don't see baselines neither for CH1 nor CH2. Baseline calibration is failed. I can choose original FW in bootloader and it works fine, even calibration is ok.
I tried to save calibration in LOADER and it always gives me all-zero 512b file.

Is it fixable?
P.S.: bought this oscilloscope many years ago, so it's not like a fresh HW revision.
