Don't change the version number, use 0x1632 for EF2. The DSO firmware does some things differently based on this.

32bit is divided into 2 channels. TJ 16bit into 1 channel. Adc takes 2 samples 8bit, So 6144*2 per channel. Rounded 12000.
Do you know what I forgot to copy into základ.v ?

OK, I will do the testing of FW DSO1.00o5 + new FW FPGA EF2L 0x1632.

The differences in the *zaklad.v* file are in the settings of the *triger_read_address* and *sample_read_offset* registers.

Hi,

I checked the *.zaklad.v* file in the *FPGA_EF2L45 ubuntu* folder. The file already  contains all my changes. On Monday I will test FW DSO1.00o5 + new FW FPGA EF2L 0x1632. Thanks.

Replace 432 it is a 1.25V reference.

Hello,
Replacing the 432 worked, and now the calibration functions are also working. Thank you for the tips.

Now I have a few small questions about the last update (without the FPGA extensions).

Am I correct in understanding that I...

need to install the updater on the card using the loader program?

How much space do I need to leave at the beginning of the card?

Do I need to create any folders on the card where the latest update needs to be stored?

I've tried to find the answer in the nearly 150 pages here, but with my poor English (the text here is translated by AI), it's really not that easy.

How do I proceed to install the latest update without the FPGA stuff?

Thanks for your help.  ;D

Best regards,
Dirk

Hi,

I am testing FW DSO 1.00o5 + new FPGA FW 0x1632:

1. RUN mode: Set sampling rate = 100MSPS, memory = 12000, so the displayed waveform should be 120 µs long? But the waveform is displayed with a length of 150 µs, is this okay?. (Added Note: from 120 us to 150 us is just a line.)

2. STOP mode: unknown waveform is displayed. Please see the attached video. Unknown waveform is displayed/not displayed depending on the position of the "H" point on the screen.

If you move the image sideways, the waveform will be drawn within the waveform memory. What you have on the screen is drawing data that is outside the sample memory. And it can be any data in the program.
I'll do something about it. It's especially noticeable when they choose 75% Trigger.

Hi

I found a bug in the new FW FPGA EF2L 0x1632. The calculation for the addr_delta register can overflow. I fixed the calculation for the addr_delta register, please see the attached file *zaklad.v*. I apologize for my mistake. Thank you

Hi Atlan,

DSO 1.00o5 + new FPGA FW Ef2L 0x1632 is not working correctly. I don’t know if the problem is in the DSO 1.00o5 FW or the FPGA EF2L 0x1632 FW? See the video attachment – measurement on a 1 kHz signal. DSO 1.00o5 + OEM FPGA FW EF2L 0x1432 works fine. Can you check if the same problem occurs with DSO 1.00o5 + FPGA FW AL3? Thanks

The problem may be that if the Trigger value is not found, the default value is used where the trigger should be. However, in auto mode, the Trigger may not be found at all. Because the number of samples is only counted and the result is displayed on the screen.

Normal mode works correctly.

Hi,

unfortunately I don't know how exactly the FW DSO works, but with a 1kHz signal it shouldn't be a problem to find the trigger point. There must be a bug somewhere. Is there any way we can fix it?

So try to calculate it. 10Msa,50us/div. Signal 1kHz. Number of samples 3000. Sampling starts at a random time and only 3000 samples are taken, do you think that one whole period of the signal will appear in those 3000 samples? Also calculate that if the trigger is at 50% memory, you need the Trigger value and edge type settings to be in the last 1500 samples.

During testing of the new FPGA firmware FW 0x1632, I tried setting the memory size to 12000 and the trigger to 25%, but the result was the same.

I’m asking whether there might be an issue somewhere, because I don’t understand how it is possible that the OEM FPGA firmware FW 0x1432, which has less memory than the new FPGA FW 0x1632, operates correctly in AUTO mode.

Last change made in the file *zaklad.v.*? It was for calculating the addr_delta register. See line 457.

Old:
((trigger_read_address + 6144) - trigger_address);

New:
((6144 - trigger_address) + trigger_read_address);

Maybe a PC programmer could tell you more about the auto trigger mode. In that mode, numbers are sent to the register (from a table depending on the sampling frequency), which affect how many samples are taken. The question is whether it is solved through a timer, and what are the conditions. Now it is solved through the number of samples, a fixed number. It would be possible to give it through a table, and let it run several times in auto mode if the trigger is not found. At a high sampling frequency, this is not a problem, because it takes a short time. But for example, if you sample in the range of 100ms, the entire transfer takes 1.5s, and then a 2x extension would be unbearable.

Hi

I made changes to the new FW for the FPGA EF2L 0x1632. The problem with the AUTO trigger maybe is solved. See the attached video.

Write the changes, line number, and change. Thank you.

If you're good at it, there's a hold off register, you can program it to wait a hold off time (ms or us) from the detection of the trigger condition and then start Sampling again when the Trigger occurs. (so I'm thinking if I should do the first conversion completely then wait and start the second conversion completely but that's probably not right) :-DMM

Why doesn't he use youtube for videos?

Hi,

my temporary changes for the register (time_base_cnt) are not working reliably. Today I turned on the device and the AUTO trigger is not working. :palm: Yesterday when I recorded the video, the AUTO trigger was working. Could you please explain to me how the AUTO trigger works in the DSO firmware? What commands and values (time_base_timeout) does the MCU send to the FPGA?Thanks

could you please tell me what values *scope settings.sample count* sends MCU to FPGA 0x1632. Is the value constant or does it change? Thanks

sorry, been absent for a while - what is the latest firmware (without FPGA) - is it "fnirsi_1013d.bin v0.26v9.txt.bin"?

Do I need any extra hardware for the "FNIRSI1013D-APP-beta10\FNIRSI 1013D-APP-beta10.html" ?
How do I setup ?
