As far as I'm concerned the only Trump's ally is Russia and perhaps Belarus.
Both have dropped the west, not just United States but also Europe, Australia, and everything western. Russian Federation is turned towards East and BRICS -- South America, Africa, India, Asia. Russia is not going to be partners with Europe again, there won't be gas sales (Turkish stream is going to be closed eventually), there won't be any trade. Frankly if Europe wants to deal with China, Russia is not going to be transit country for it.

Frankly, I don't see any reason to argue with someone who proudly poses with a PMC Wagner flag on their forehead.

So the OP was about strategies to deal with the new US tariffs (which, btw, are likely to not be definitive and many of you probably realize this).

Where are we at with this topic 39 pages later?
Just looking at this topic, two pages back, you have same trolls, war mongers from britain and denmark, constantly derailing this thread.
Correct answer is NOWHERE, this is some political offtopic at this point in time.
This thread should be locked and forgotten.  :-+

By the way, I remember reading DAVE on page 1 or 2, he warned us about locking this thread if it becomes Trump name calling. It has become Trump name calling at this point in time.
So it should be locked. I mean, unless you expect to see something interesting in here. I personally don't.

There is another tariff related thread, it's about aliexpress. I have ordered stuff from aliexpress during this de-minimus thing and it should be arriving soon. So that would be interesting and productive to follow.

I prefer respect. Country you respect you write with Capital letter and fully. For example United States. Not U.S., not US, not USA or U.S.A.. If you respect United States, you write the name fully.

Now, I see you asked a question, however your question is 100% off topic and not related to this thread.  :-//

You are not making this thread interesting or education to read.  :-// :-//

@joeqsmith How about you stop being self-fish and stop taking a p*** in this thread, making it bad for everyone who reads it. If you have a question you want to ask, offtopic or otherwise personal you could use private messaging feature, or make a new thread. But no.... You choose to write irrelevant BS here.  :-//

Stop it buddy. Think of others when you write something.

Why not just answer why you left your home to come to the USA?  I can't see selling hacked radios to the hams and CBers as much of a business.  Does the FCC consider that legal activity?  If convicted of a federal crime, how does that effect your VISA?

I wasn't sure, but having a look at their facebook page, they provide a clear image of themselves wearing their PMC Wagner hat.  Question is why are they here in the USA.

Perhaps nothing.

I'm curious what his IP address might indicate. Perhaps it would be Sochi on the Black Sea coast, 430km SE of Kerch in Ukraine.

That, as several people have spotted, is what he indicates in his github page.

As I'm sure you are aware, the leader of that group was a close associate of Putin, until that leader lead the Wagner militants toward Moscow trying to overthrow Putin. Putin didn't like that (doh!), so i suggest either us666a is either on the run from Putin or is attempting to demonstrate fealty to Putin.

Ford announced that they expect a hit of 2.5 billion dollar this year because of the tariffs.
They think they might be able limit it to 1.5 billion by taking countermeasures.

In other words; is there still anyone out there thinking tariffs will not hurt Americans ?

@Sorama I'm now faced with a choice of buying a vehicle. I'm a big mustang fan, I used to own 2001 GT 5 speed. But nowadays I don't want mustang. Fuel economy and styling. I don't want explorer either. I wouldn't mind Ford truck, but when you calculate how much it cost for the one I want, I don't want it. My point is, Ford is already in shaky position. It was known as producer of cheap solid vehicles. Now, these Ford vehicles come with premium tag.

If they are expecting 2.5b loss, it's not just because of tariffs.

According to the A Different Bias (UK Youtube channel) and quoting the Telegraph (UK newspaper/site) that "Tariffs Worse for Britain Than EU"

Stating effective tariffs on UK will be about 12% whereas EU (10%) and Canada (9%), Vietnam(7%), Mexico(11%), Japan(14%), Australia(10%), India(9%)

In that case it should be "The United States of America", no?

Nothing more patriotic than an immigrant, I guess.

To me, native-born, "US" is plenty good enough. Not a flag-waver here.

An interesting thing for them to be focused on, given that they came out as supporters of Brexit during the referendum, and their readership largely does, at least those not having fully moved on to supporting the Reform Party.

Ford claims a 75 to 80 % national production. Will Ford be able to supply the cars needed to substitute all cars that used to be imported? Will Ford cars become as rare and expensive as gold?
Substitute any other consumer product as you like: 2 dolls, 5 pens and 1 car. Name it recession.

I know very little about Ford, or about cars in general for that matter.
However, I wonder about Chevy (General Motors) instead of Ford.
Reason I mention it is that some years ago (2016), I drove a Chevy Cruze (similar to Malibu) across country. Put more than 2,000 miles on it.
My total gas mileage for the entire trip was more than 40 mpg! No problems with the vehicle.

Ford is focusing on larger SUVs and trucks.  Focus and Fiesta are discontinued or soon to be discontinued in EU and USA.   Such vehicles have larger price tags now, so customers expect a lot more "luxury" in them to compensate for the higher price.  This makes them a lot more dependent on foreign components as this luxury usually comes with demands on technology.  I am sure the tariffs will hit them badly.

And it looks like my Cruze has bit the dust as well.
The Chevy website only shows the Malibu in that category.
Maybe look for a good used Cruze.
