Ok, I understand.I will wait for the fault to reappear and connect a suitable ground test point

Let you repair it first.
I would ask you to successfully complete C18 heat test to prove my Multicap simulation.

Is this ever an issue? In most cases when I'm debugging a PCB, I have stuff in my hands (probes, soldering iron, etc), and holding the phone and messing with the app is the last thing I want to do.

What's the UVLO behaviour of the scope for voltages under 11V? 3.66V per cell could be less than 50% capacity used, depending on the exact chemistry.

Ok, I'm going to spend some time looking for a real ground test point.

My original plan was to replace tantalum capacitors with 35V or 50V withstand voltage specifications, not electrolytic capacitors.I understand that tantalum capacitors have special functions.Because these red tantalum capacitors have been in operation for 20-30 years,Isn't replacing them in advance the best option?

Do you mean to just replace the C18 35V 1UF tantalum capacitor with a 35V1UF or 50V1UF tantalum capacitor?Other tantalum capacitors remain in their original state

I used ctrl+f and "soic" to find the layout, but I'm not paying you by the hour, so I won't ask you to dig further. Thanks for your thoughts

Windows 10, does find it in MSC mode, but it changes from Connected to Disconnected, every Couple of Seconds or so.
I just plugged it in, and sometimes I can access everything normally, other times, it gets into a Non Responsive Cycle.
Why???

Tah, Simon.

i just said it because its the defacto standard for quality computer parts to put fiberglass silicone braid on it. I think it offers a high degree of abrasion resistance to shitty PC cases and stuff like that

not sure WHAT can happen in a modern PC now that has a 1000W power supply if something malfunctions. maybe there is more to it

I am currently working on a smartphone app to help locate components on PCBs using visual overlay. This is an improvement over current methods that require the user to manually match the component locator to the board. The primary goal is to help users test and troubleshoot boards faster and easier.

I made a youtube video to demonstrate my concept. Currently looking for feedback on if it would be useful to anyone. Any suggestions for improvements also welcome.

Here is the video:

What do you think "most certainly matters"?

Anything that effects the SI.

Precisely. SI is an analogue phenomenon not digital, and the same issues also occur in analogue circuits.

As I stated, it just provides context which I thought would have been obvious.  Sure we can become pendant but it doesn't add anything to the discussion.
